This Saturday, Allen Franz will be leading the nature walk in Peck Park Canyon. The walk leaves at 9 am from the lower parking lot (below the community center off Western Ave.)
On Sat Dec 2 Friends of Peck Park will continue weeding and possibly planting the native garden we are working on. Volunteers are needed from 9-12. Students can earn service hours.

🍕🌿Join us for a fun and free July celebration! 🌞🍴 Our South Coast CNPS Chapter is hosting a pizza potluck followed by a walk to explore the demonstration garden known as Mother Nature's Backyard along the pathways of the Gardena Willows Wetland Preserve. 🚶♀️🌳
We’ll be providing pizza and utensils and ask attendees to bring their favorite sides and desserts to share! Also, be sure you bring your reusable water bottle with your own drink to help cut back on waste!
The Gardena Willows is located at 1201 W. 170th Street, Gardena, CA 90247. The Preserve covers 13.6 acres and is the remnant of a wetland area that once covered 400 acres. Read more about its history here: https://www.gardenawillows.org/history.htm
The Preserve is reached by driving into Arthur Johnson Park from 170th , parking on the south side and taking the pathway along the chainlink fence planted with native grape to the entrance gate.
