Members were test running one of the steam locomotives at SCLS. The owner of this train is hoping to have it out to give public train rides in the near future
Yesterday Charlie, Nate,and Tom worked on getting the Crenshaw line track ballasted this is extremely physical work. We use Recycled ground up cement for Ballast stone. It holds the tracks in place and needs to be added to every few years. Unfortunately we also have ground squirrel holes to deal with. On Friday we plan on spot ballasting the rest of the Crenshaw track, there’s a lot to do, if all go’s well we will have it open for public rides. If you are in excellent physical condition and would like to help we will start a 8:00 am and be there all day.
