Free train rides tomorrow 6-2-24 starting at 11:00AM to 3:00 PM 2290 Washington Ave Torrance Ca 90510
Riders must be at lest 32” tall, be able to walk unassisted, and have footwear on. Train crew have the right to refuse train rides to anyone and remove riders that do not follow the safety rules.
Tomorrow 5-18-24 Charlie will be giving rides behind Jim Barryman’s beautiful #2 steam locomotive. The rides are free 12:00pm to 3:00pm This is a real oil fired steam locomotive that is 3 1/2 inch to the foot scale 7 1/2” gauge. We also will be providing rides behind our scale diesel locomotives as well. The address is 2290 Washington Ave, Torrance, CA 90510
Free train rides this Sunday 5-5-24 from 11:00 Am to 3:00 Pm. This last week a few of our members performed much-needed maintenance with wood replacement and fresh paint jobs on the club house, little yellow house, and tool shed. The flowers are blooming the butterflies are flying around it’s a perfect time to take a train ride with us.
Free Train Rides

12:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Tomorrow is the first Sunday of the month: free train rides-11am to 3pm. We have been very busy with some challenging projects around the grounds. Tree trimming, painting the Caboose, added some new railroad displays, new pavers around the president’s garden, and we got the Crenshaw line cleared off.
The best part is when you as our guest, come out and enjoy a train ride. 
Yesterday 3-24-2024 was a productive day at SCLS. We had Parker Hancock with troop 860 preforming his Eagle Scout project. His project is to installing pavers at the Presidents garden. This will make a much improved area for the public to access on the train ride days. Members Dale Van lngen and Tom Downing volunteered to start the large project of giving the Santa Fa caboose a fresh red paint job.
Train rides today 3-16-24, 12:00pm to 3:00pm.
Riders must be at least 32” tall and able to walk on the own to ride the trains. For a enjoyable ride Its important to always follow all the safety rules when riding the trains

The weather forecast currently states a 30% chance of rain in the afternoon. We will do our best to safely provide the train rides. If the weather is too wet we will be forced to stop giving rides. Tomorrow we will post here the status of the train rides
To start the new year off SCLS has free train rides Sunday January 7th 11:00am to 3:00pm. Riders must be at least 32” tall to ride the trains

Notes: Tickets for this event are only sold tonight at the event no presale tickets have been sold.
This week a small team of our members has been busy setting up all the lights and displays for the Holiday night train rides. Here’s a few photos from last year. We always try to improve the displays for this event. Stop by and go for a train ride this Friday and Saturday 5:00 pm to 8:00pm.

This is our big fundraiser for the year. On Tuesday we started working on setting up the displays, today we did track and car inspections and adjustments. Tomorrow will be a long day of setup and testing. Friday day time is final setup and getting the trains ready. Friday night 5:15 is go time.
