Secure Act 2.0 that passed last December, made some changes regarding making Catch-Up Contributions for higher earners.
It stated that starting in 2024 - Those making at least $145,000 per year would be required to make catch-up contributions to Roth - post-tax - accounts.
However, due to the complicated nature of setting up a system that would funnel these high-income employees, the IRS has postponed the effective date to 2026.
This means employers have additional time to introduce the changes within their plan and employees can continue making pre-tax contributions to their retirement accounts.
What are your thoughts on the updated changes to the catch-up contributions?

When I am not in the office, you will most likely find me on the golf course (wearing a fun shirt). The game of golf not only takes a lot of practice and experience but also the mental strength to not get discouraged when things go badly. This can be similar to investing in your future.
Thank you to the Back River Restoration Committee for hosting a fantastic event and for all of the work you do in the local community.
Retirement can last 25 years or more. Rather than thinking of retirement
as a finish line, think of this next chapter as a time where you can live life
to the fullest. Strengthen your relationships with family, explore hobbies
that bring you joy and maximize every moment. The longevity you
achieve in retirement is a testament to a life well lived.
