All of these plans will likely make you eat less sh*t food, which in turn yields less calories consumed. Just as your car will only go as far as the engine will take it, your heart is the engine for your body. ✅ Preserving type 2 muscle fibers. Training “power” lifting heavy and moving fast allows you to be more resilient to catching yourself when you fall. ✅ Mobility which is found through resistance training at full range of motion. Here are my top 5 problems as to why most humans do not stay consistent with exercise. 1. Their only focus is results, aka the weight scale 2. They compare themselves to others 3. They over estimate the difficulty of starting from scratch, or their “lack of ability” 4. They don’t prioritize exercise, or they look for any excuse not to exercise (a lot of these folks work out in the evening) 5. Proper expectations were not set in the beginning For the sake of simplicity, let’s define “function” as better human movement. With better human movement, things are perceived as “easier”. For a lot of folks, things that are “easier” will foster a more consistent environment. One of the top 3 (arguably the most important) ingredients to living a longer, more active life, is having sufficient muscle tissue and strength. Tissues need tension to grow. Putting a proper plan together for a minimum of 2-3 weeks is incredibly important to stress, and process the body properly. Each week you should be trying to beat the week prior in one of 3 ways. 1. Move better. Perceiving something as less hard as the week prior is a HUGE win. 2. Do more reps at the same weight as the week prior. 3. Add load. You should always be building in weight until you find a loading that yields 1-2 reps from failure, every session.
