2020 marks my 20th year of making stone lamps! I have shown my works at art fairs across the US and
Vases! Sure would like to know how many holes I've drilled over the last 24 years! Was hoping to have some available lamp pictures to post this week. Oh well...that freighter has sailed 😄, maybe next week. Looking forward to the Garage Sale Art Fair this Saturday. I'll have a great selection of lamps, vases and picture frames.
See ya there!

Definitely my favorite lamp of this Winters grinding. Ruth just giggles at me because I need to keep it!
We'll see🙂!

Here's your lucky stone lamp Ann Ivory! Hope I did well by your stones, the bottom one is amazing. Ended up only having to use 3 of my stones. The rough height of the stones was 21 1/4", 18" after grinding. I'll bring it to you at the Garage Sale Art Fair.
Kevin
1st grind done. Both still need a top stone...if I can finally drill them without them exploding!! Definitely been a fun challenge!

Pudding stone lamp found its happy home!
Kevin
That's enough for tonight. Will grind these down tomorrow and see what the stones want to finish up.

Challenging group of rocks to work with! Making a pair of lamps for some great friends using their stones. We shall see!

I love how the lamps react to the changing daylight throughout the day! Been busy getting my house and shop ready for winter. Heading up to Superior this weekend for my snowy day stock of stones.
Kevin
Love a rainy day! Still tuckered out from the art fair season but still can muster up enough energy to rescue some rocks!

Charlevoix Applefest! Day 2
Charlevoix Applefest!
Rainy day...vase day.

I get asked quite often if I do anything to make the stones fit each other. That's my favorite compliment! This lamp started out at 26 1/2 inches. The 1st grind took it down to 21 1/2 inches. The final grind ended at 19 1/2 inches. 7 inches of stone and dust! I'll have this one ready for the Charlevoix Applefest Oct 13-15
Kevin
Got a nice picture of one of my little dudes hanging out at the office! Thanks for the picture C! I'll have 6 of the little ones at the Charlevoix Applefest Oct 13-15.
Kevin
Been pondering the last couple of weeks on what these guys want to become...I can see it now! Should be working on other pieces to be ready for the Charlevoix Applefest but the pull of the pudding stone is strong😊...I'll keep you posted.
Kevin
1st grind done, same with my hands! They're turning out great but going to give my hands a day or two off. Ruth came up with an awesome idea that I'm going to work on, hopefully have several done to take to Charlevoix. I'll post pics when they're ready.
Kevin
The hard part is done, on to my favorite, grinding!
