I have to thank Lavinia Streza FNP of Optimal Health TC. She’s fantastic! She made me realize I’ve been starving myself for years and didn’t need to for weight management. My feast or famine behavior has been a life long bad habit and killed my already slowing metabolism. By eating regularly and with all colors and food groups balanced, protein shakes with kale, cucumber, and berries (you can’t really taste the kale, lol) I feel great! Who knew you could eat to lose weight? Obviously not me.

Next Solace Yoga (Grief and Loss):
Monday and Thursday 4:30-6pm

In this class, we improve our knowledge of the physiology of grief and how we connect to one another. We use yogic principles to improve our nervous systems through improved vagal tone, the ability to calm and process. The waves of grief can be consuming but with a small group providing each other safe space through breath, postures, meditation and listening, we create resilience and community for our stories.

Share as much as you wish when it’s your week, or not. Just show up. Be yourself in your grief and allow yourself to be held in this space.

Tuition for 5 classes (attendance mandatory and class schedule adjusted when needed) is $200.

Even if this time doesn’t work for your schedule but you’d like to attend a series, message Rena to find the right schedule. This is offered for a short time and resumed in fall so don’t wait if you’re called to join.

Just like the Buddhist sees the waves as life and death, I see us sometimes getting knocked over by the waves of grief or sometimes being the wave that puts a friend back on shore. Come be with us. Message me with any questions.

Update: starting this series 2/1 for the month of February, Thursdays, 4-5:30, with more classes coming. This is a 5 class series course that rotates intension to each class member per week. We get to take a break from our grief for those sessions intended for someone else for love and healing for each other, then receive it for your week. This builds empathy while improving vagal tone to ride the waves of grief and rethink how our bodies respond. This is science based and researched using yoga principles as the foundation to improving our nervous systems. We support each other in small groups, 3-4 and have the chance to be heard, nurtured, and supported. No prior yoga experience is necessary and all accommodations are offered. Grief can leave us feeling lost and alone. The waves can be rough, but we can support each other with yoga and intentional love. Come join me for my return to Solace Yoga: Grief and Loss. I'm taking inquiries for January - February, February - March, and March-April. The classes are small 3-4 people and we support each other by rotation of intension to each member, so attendance is very important. This is based on my research, work with Veterans, Chronically injured people, and my own experiences with grief and loss. Message me your interest and times available. Classes are 1.5 hours, 2-4 participants, 5 classes total, and the cost is $200. Past participants have expressed this series was invaluable, caring, and successful in creating support, being supported, and moving through the waves of grief with greater confidence. No prior yoga experience is needed and the asana (poses) are gentle and intuitive with all modifications offered as needed. The first series is scheduled for all Thursdays in February from 4-5:30, but don't let dates turn you away as all is negotiable with a small group. Just returned from my Ikaria Greece yoga/culture retreat with 10 brave women of all ages, stages, and comfort levels. All were up to the challenge. From nauseating, hair raising switchback mountain rides to yogurt with honey that makes the eyes water in gratitude to a sage inn-keeper named Voula who professes with glasses in hand “we find solution, first wine!”, all experiences were deserved and necessary. I have a sister from another mother, Thea, who is my Ikarian heritage link and life long friend who I came to truly know. Only through challenge and community do we grow. It will take time to process the gifts and discoveries.

Can’t wait to go do….whatever.
