Even with the past month's events we will be ready to get everyone attending back in great tennis shape! We are planning some exciting times on court and off court :)

Thanks to the crew at The City of Treasure Island's Treasure Bay for getting our two teaching courts ready for us to get back to work! We will be offering a limited schedule of clinics and lessons beginning October 28th. November Tennis Camp is ON! Please like this page to keep getting updates!

Hello! This has been a trying week for all. So many people affected by Hurricane Helene. I know many friends and neighbors who have lost everything. My heart is breaking for all of you. My home, my family and myself have been hit hard by the storm. But…we are all blessed to be safe. Struggles in the short term will be met by hard work and optimism.

As most of you know, Treasure Bay was also hit hard and will be closed for the near future as the clubhouse suffered a total loss inside. Tennis courts are going to need some TLC to get going again. I know this has interrupted play, leagues, lessons, etc. I will use this page to try to keep you up to date on any planning and progress that will be made to get our tennis community back to playing and feeling normal in the future. Thank you to The City of Treasure Island and all those working endless hours with not much sleep. Much progress has been made here. The local citizens are out here working hard to clean up and move forward. The amount of people helping people is inspiring.

I know this is being replicated in all communities affected or not all the way up to Asheville and beyond. Amazing…

I personally pledge that I will do everything I can to get Treasure Bay playing again. I will also help advocate for all tennis centers in our area that have been affected by the storm. It is a must for a community that is suffering to have recreation not only for their physical health but their mental health as well. For tennis players that means we need to play tennis.

I urge everyone in the tennis industry to work together along with our partners to help get us normal again.

I urge players to become advocates and volunteers to help make this happen for “your” sport. I also urge you to be patient with fellow players and facilitators who are suffering at this time.

Play hard and be nice to each other.

Day two after my needed hip replacement. Doing extremely well… I’ve been walking since leaving the surgery. Kinda amazing. Thanks to Dr Miranda and his crew at Florida Orthopaedic Institute. On track for a quick recovery. Thanks to all that have reached out. Special thanks to my nurse Michele for putting up with me !:)

Finished Day Three of the Blue Thunder Spring Adult Camp at Treasure Bay. Windy but beautiful weather. I thank everyone who attended for their hard work and team spirit. All helped celebrate USTa Florida’s 75th Anniversary and had fun playing yesterday with the SPC Lady Titans 🙂 We’ll be setting the fall dates sometime this week. More pics to come…

Wow! Great weather, great matches…Lady Titans won both matches Thursday and Friday. The Gulf Beaches Rotary event had great participation and weather! Success all around! Thanks to all who contributed and participated!!! Happy Coach!
