Nina is quite the spirited and loving girl-cat! You could even call her a "puppy cat" because she often comes when called and engages with her foster actively, asking for love and tagging along when her foster walks away (even batting her foster's leg, saying "hey, wait...more attention, please!"). Nina loves head scritches and being brushed, and she's all up for snuggling in quiet places. She's a good eater, enjoying both kibble and wet food, and she's an ace at litter box usage. Nina has come face-to-face with another cat in her foster home, and she didn't seem too pleased, but there are signs of her softening. Because she can be a little impatient and sometimes talks with her paws (so to speak), we think she should land with someone who is willing to take the time learn her cat-signals. If you are looking for a quintessentially cool, strong cat to be your roomie, sweet Nina is your girl! Apply to adopt her today! 💖🐾😻

Hi there, I'm Colin! I'm a sweet and sensitive soul who takes a little time to warm up to new people and places. I'm a quick learner and eager to please, so I'm sure I'll excel in positive reinforcement training. I'm looking for a patient and understanding family who can give me the time and space I need to adjust. I would thrive in a calm and predictable home with a consistent routine. I'm a bit wary of new people and situations, so I would do best in a household with older children or adults who can respect my boundaries. I have so much love to give, and I promise to be your most devoted friend once I feel safe and secure. 💕
During the Homecoming Adoption Special, my adoption fee is $25 (plus license fees and the long-term costs and commitment of being my companion, of course). Visit me at the Troutdale shelter!

We're pulling out all the stops for Ruby. Someone knows someone with the perfect home for this smart, friendly, 5 yr old female Shepherd. Could it be yours, or will you help network her into her new home today?
During the Homecoming Adoption Special, Ruby's adoption fee is $25 plus license fees and the long term cost and commitment of care.
This lovely dog, Ruby, is quite the trooper, according to her friends at the shelter! She's made incredible progress since arriving and has overcome some initial health challenges. When she first arrived, her skin needed some serious TLC, but thanks to the amazing care from the staff, her coat is now looking lovely and her skin is feeling so much better! 💗 She's a fun-loving gal with a big heart, and she's ready to find a special human or family to shower with her love and loyalty. She'll need a little time to get to know you and feel safe because new things can sometimes make her a bit nervous. But don't worry, her friends at the shelter can give you great tips for helping her settle in and overcome some of the fears she may have transitioning into her new home. 🏠 She's a bit selective about her doggy friends, also showing some barrier reactivity as well and has prey drive seeing that she's from the herding family. So a home without other pets might be the best fit for her. She admits that being spoiled with all of the attention and endless playtime sounds pretty great 🥰 With some patience, understanding and more positive reinforcement training she can become the best dog companion you've ever had! Although she might need a little extra pampering due to her skin condition and would benefit from a teeth cleaning in the future, she is truly just the sweetest, most playful gal! If you're looking for a loving and resilient dog to share your life with, come meet her at our Troutdale shelter! She can't wait to start this new chapter with you. 💕

But don't let that fool you; this resilient feline is healing well and ready for a fresh start. Ricky's independent spirit shines through. He's not the type to instantly demand attention, but with patience and understanding, he'll blossom into a loyal companion. Happy National Dog Day! Let's celebrate canine companionship, and how it can benefit our mental health with a story from Multnomah County Health Department.
Happy Adoption Story: Louis Biscuits (Lucky)
"Louis Biscuits was in rough shape when he adopted me late last summer. He had lost much of his fur due to alopecia and neglect and he needed a lot of love. Well, that's exactly what he got. In just a few weeks, he was watching tv alongside me, letting me hold him like a baby and waiting for me at the front door when I got home from work. The trust he has in me now is incredible and adorable. Louis Biscuits has always been a vocal guy, his "song" is much akin to a baby dinosaur, in my purview and I truly love waking up to his song and the snuggles that accompany. Louis Biscuits likes to crawl on me when I'm watching TV. He hates it when I'm on my phone too much, he loves greenies treats and freeze-dried minnows. He doesn’t mind getting his belly rubbed or his nails clipped. He is very cool about grooming and loves getting brushed. His fur is so silky fine after I brush him. He makes air biscuits upside down occasionally, which is a fun sight to see. Having someone so wonderful to come home to really helps my mental health and gives me a more positive outlook on life. I always wake up happy to this little guy and feed him small portions of chicken hearts, chicken and salmon to keep him healthy. Louis makes my world go-around, thank you Multnomah Shelter for improving the quality of both of our lives!"

If you're looking for a serene senior cat to share quiet moments with, Gertrude might be the perfect match. She's eager to find a loving home where she can spend her golden years in comfort and peace.

Noodle is a sweet cat who enjoys affection and pets, but she does have limits and will let you know when pets are unwelcome or she is in need of some alone time. She will greet you at the door with a squeaky meow and she gets rowdy in the afternoons and likes to play, however about 90% of the time she is happy to curl up next to you and receive your adoration. Expect lots of purring. Give her a couple of days to get used to her surroundings and she will become confident and masterful getting into your cabinets :) Noodle is a delight and lots of fun to have around, she will fit into a home that allows her space on her terms, then her affection will be showered upon you.
