TIMING
Timing is just as important as the outcome of the set if
not more. It can be difficult to retain clientele when a
full set takes 2+ hours. Luckily, months and years of experience is not required to improve your speed.

DAMAGE
There is a misconception that eyelash extensions causes damage to the natural lash and that is false. Improper application is the real culprit here. There is a slim chance the client will return if there are noticeable bald spots and weakened natural lashes.

DISCOMFORT
With proper application, the client should not suffer
from any discomfort. This includes soreness, itchiness,
redness, and a burning sensation. The set should also
be weightless and always make sure to check for stickies, use minimal glue, opt for a sensitive
adhesive and apply the lash extensions at least 0.5mm
away from the lash line.

As a lash artist or as a client, it’s important to understand the reason why lash extensions may cause irritation such as…

Burning Sensation?

Wash your lashes! With lash extensions, there is more surface to collect bacteria which causes that burning sensation especially when your lashes get wet. However, If you’re experiencing this during or right after the appointment, 9/10 the tape was not applied properly, allowing the glue fumes to enter the eyes.

Eyelash Extensions / Eyelids itch?
The eyelashes were applied on the skin or touching the skin. This can also cause a small bump near the lash line. Lash extensions should always be applied at least 0.5mm away from the lash line.

Soreness?
When fumes enter the eyes and causes redness, the client can experience soreness up to 4 days after the appointment. The other most COMMON reason is because of stickies! When 2 or more lash extensions are stuck together, it will not only cause soreness but also lash damage. It’s very important for the lash artist to check EACH lash at the end of the appointment to ensure there are no stickies.
