Chiropractic Care and Water Sports!
Water sports injuries are unfortunately not uncommon. Whether you've been injured while water skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, or paddleboarding, it's important to seek the right treatment. That's why many athletes turn to chiropractic care for relief and healing from water sports injuries.
Causes of Water Sports Injuries
Many people sustain injuries while participating in water sports. Even those who are trained and practice safe activities are at risk. For example, some patients experience spinal injuries from being thrown off a boat or whiplash from falling off a surfboard. Muscle sprains, strains, and tendonitis are also common injuries. Many water sports involve repetitive motions, which can lead to overuse syndromes such as rotator cuff injuries.
Water Sports Injury Prevention With a Chiropractor
We can help you avoid water sports injuries by providing treatments such as corrective exercises and lifestyle changes. We may also recommend massage, chiropractic adjustments, and stretching to improve your flexibility and range of motion, which can reduce the risk of injury.
Chiropractic Treatment for Water Sports Injuries
If you've already suffered an injury while participating in water sports, we are here to help. We can treat a range of water sports injuries, including muscle spasms, whiplash, shoulder pain, spinal injury, and more. Treatment may include chiropractic adjustments to reduce and realign joints, as well as massages to help reduce swelling and pain. We may also recommend exercises to help you regain strength and mobility.

What You Should Know About Chiropractic Care for Cyclists!
A chiropractor can treat many of the most common biking injuries, such as:
Neck/Back: This includes tightness in the neck and lower back pain, piriformis syndrome, which is when the piriformis muscle cramps, pressing on the sciatic nerve and causing buttock pain or sciatica.
Shoulder: This includes AC joint sprains and clavicle (shoulder or collar bone).
Hand/Wrist/Forearm: Includes numbness and pain, as well as elbow dislocation, lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow, which also applies to cyclists), and Carpal Tunnel.
Foot: Including numbness and tingling, plantar fasciitis in the heel and arch pain.
Knee/Leg: This includes Cyclist’s Knee, patella and quadriceps tendonitis, which either affect the kneecaps or outer knees. This also includes Achilles tendonitis and thigh and hip flexor strain.
Muscles: This includes soreness that lasts and goes away in 24 hours and delayed onset muscle soreness that lasts longer than 24 hours.
Many of these injuries can be caused by overuse, falls, improper techniques, faulty or no protective gear or an improperly fitted bicycle. To prevent them here are some tips:
Always stretch before a ride.
Make sure your bike is properly fitted to you. Everyone has a different arm length, leg size and posture; try out several bikes of different sizes to determine which frame size and other features are a good fit.
Adjust your seat height so it’s not too low or high.
Knees should be aligned with your feet when riding.
Use the entire pedal stroke completely to avoid pointed toes and fatigued and cramped calves.
Avoid hunching your shoulders.
Adjust your handle grip frequently and avoid grasping too tightly.
Don’t constantly tilt your head to one side.
Stay hydrated.
Here is your funny for today! Don't forget to call for your adjustment next week and enjoy your weekend.

With summer days come yard work, including mowing and w**ding. Here are eight tips to help you get your work done without harming your back.
Don’t push a self-propelled mower; just direct it and let it do the work. Stand up straight, not hunched over, and when you need to turn, pivot the rear wheels so that the weight of the lawn mower is on the rear wheels not on your back.
When pulling the lawnmower coil rope to start the mower, pull with your arms, not your back.
With a riding mower or a zero turn mower, sit up straight, using good posture as you ride. Some zero turns can go quite fast, but you should go slow enough that the bumps are not hard on your back. Your low back can get quite a beating on an uneven lawn.
If you have a large area to mow, split mowing into two sessions to give your back a rest in between.
Avoid lifting a push mower or riding mover to work on it. Use jacks or lifts instead.
Use a shoulder support strap when w**d whacking. Don’t twist, let your arms do the moving.
When shoveling, bend at the knees to avoid putting pressure on your back. Avoid twisting if possible.
Loosen the roots of w**ds by watering them before pulling so they won’t need as much force to remove them. Kneel on a pad instead of bending over to pull them out.
Happy Mother's Day to all Mothers.
