Happy Memorial Day everyone! 🇺🇸
Today the queens attended the Athens Memorial Day parade to celebrate those who have served and are currently serving our country. Thank you everyone who has or is currently serving for our country, we appreciate your bravery and dedication to keep our country safe. We hope everyone has a wonderful rest of their day and stays dry!!

Today, Rachel went to Arts4All to recognize local businesses and artists, while also mingling with those from our community! She handed out Jelliff Maple Products’s maple candy’s, and even tried delicious food! Tomorrow you can also visit with vendors from 10-4 at Riverfront Park.

Yesterday, Rachel attended the Athens FFA Program Banquet! She gave a small speech about the fair and the impact these FFA members have on the future, especially in agriculture. Congratulations to all members on your hard work and dedication, we know you will do great things!

🍁Today, the Queens started off the day by getting pancakes for breakfast, and then handed out mints and maple hard candy. They also got to help judge the Mac N Cheese contest, and visited Big Foot to get a fake tattoo! They had an awesome day filled with fun activities!

🍁Today, Rachel attended the 42nd annual Maple Festival at Alpron Park! She started off the day with helping at the pancake eating competition. She also handed out mints, talked with the community, learned about our small businesses and their story, and also got to watch a couple contestants sing under the pavilion in the Lower Meadow!

🐰 Today, the Queens went to the annual Easter pictures! They worked with Troy FFA/ Agricultural Program and made Easter bunny ears, then handed out candy.

🐣 Rachel and Charity also attended Jelliff's Annual Maple Open House. They tried their samples, handed out candy, and talked with people from the community!

Tonight Ryleigh attended the Eastsmithfield firehouse annual lighting of the green. She gave out mints, took a picture with Santa, and she drew tickets for the raffel plus 50/50. We’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and to have a great holiday season!

The FFA creed helps to shape the future leaders of our world. It was a pleasure to attend the Troy FFA Alumni Open House. Rachel and Charity introduced themselves, recited the pledge of allegiance, then shared their story in FFA. Thank you Troy FFA/ Agricultural Program for having the Queens, this was a day to remember!

Last weekend, Rachel attended Miller's Corn Maze. She handed out candy, and also go to walk through the maze! Rachel got to see Meredith Cole, the Bradford County Dairy Princess, talk to the vendors, and interacted with many members of our community and surrounding areas!

Tonight our Troy Fair Queens Rachel, Charity, and Ryleigh attended the Bluebird Festival in East Smithfield.

They were able to interact with and pass out tootsie rolls too vendors, and event goers. They were even got to the goats from Edward's Family Homestead, one of the vendors at the event.

Wednesday evening Charity attended the Wyalusing Firemen's Parade. She was able to throw out candy, interact with those watching the parade, and be a representative for the Troy Fair.

Yesterday, the queens started off the week by handing out ribbons for the market hog, beef, sheep, goat, and rabbit show. They also welcomed fair goers, handed out tootsie rolls, and visited the agsplotstion station. They ended the day with singing the Star Spangled Banner at the tractor pulls and handing out more tootsie rolls.

Introducing your 2023 Troy Fair Queen constants! We will be crowning our new Troy Fair Queen and her court on Sunday, July 23rd at 7:00 P.M. in the Lower Meadow Pavillion. Be sure to join us! 👑

Contestant #1: Charity Wampole
Charity Wampole is the daughter of Walter Wampole and Michelle Merrill. She lives in East Smithfield with her dad and step-mom, Alisa Wampole. Charity currently works on her family’s dairy farm, Wampole Acres, where she is a full-time herdsman. This Spring she will continue her education at SUNY Corning Community College before transferring to SUNY Cobleskill to double major in Animal Science and Dairy Production and Management. After college, Charity aspires to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicines Degree. Charity has been showing dairy cattle at the Troy Fair since the age of six and has also shown market hogs, market steers, and breeding beef. Before graduating from the Athens Area High School in 2022, Charity was a very active member of the FFA. She is currently working towards earning her American Degree and serves as the President of Athens FFA Alumni and Supporters.

Contestant #2: Rachel Jelliff
Rachel Jelliff is the daughter of Greg and Michelle Jelliff of Ridgebury. This year she will be a Senior at Athens Area High School. Rachel served as the 60th Bradford County Dairy Princess and currently milks cows at Pennvale Farm. She serves as the Athens FFA Student Advisor, the Athens National Honor Society Treasurer, and the Athens History Club Historian. This year is her second year of showing a market steer and a Holstein heifer. Rachel enjoys working with her market steer, Brutus, taking walks, swimming, volunteering with the Ridgebury Volunteer Fire Department, playing piano on the praise team for her church, and spending time with family.

Contestant #3: Ryleigh Voorhees
Ryleigh Voorhees is the daughter of Rodney and Liza Voorhees of Springfield. She is going into her Junior year at Troy Jr/Sr High School. Ryleigh was a member of the Mt. Pisgah 4-H Club until she joined the Troy FFA. She serves as a junior member of the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department. She earned her first letter as a freshman in Track and Field. She runs the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and the 300-meter hurdles. She enjoys riding horses, photography, going on trips with FFA, and hanging out with her friends. Ryleigh will be showing her pig, Brandi, at the Troy Fair this year.
