Happy Earth Day! 🌎🌲
The First Earth Day in 1970 was a call to action, urging the general public to fight for environmental protections. Legislation we may take for granted now (Clean Air Act, Water Quality Improvement Act, Endangered Species Act, etc.) came about in part because millions of Americans 50+ years ago made their voices heard that our country's lands, waters, and resources were worth protecting.
"So long as the human species inhabits the Earth, proper management of its resources will be the most fundamental issue we face. Our very survival will depend upon whether or not we are able to preserve, protect, and defend our environment."
- Senator Ga***rd Nelson, Founder of Earth Day
