Putting out feelers for “Solemnity”

Lemmy
Lemon Drop 🍋

10 year old OTTB
Super in your pocket and wants all of the love
Stands for farrier/grooming
Will need work if wanting to hard tie
Lower end of the herd

She still needs some topline work. Previous trainer said she was beautiful under saddle but it’s been a few years since anyone has been on her.

Retired from the track after 2 years with no injuries, she was just a little too hot at the gate. She comes with papers

Moonlight massages for both Nova and Maleficent.

Both are suffering from some hoof issues. Maleficent laminitis and Nova is pretty sore from neglect and no hoof care.

Blue light helps to pull any heat and prep the area for red light. It also assists in releasing serotonin, boosting the energy and mood.

Red and near infrared aid in pain management, promotes healthy circulation, repairing damage at a cellular level, supports the natural production of collagen, and so much more!

Both of these ladies are now tucked in and getting a good nights sleep 😴

I got another horse

Checks DMs/texts

“Another one?!”
“Girl you need to stop already”
“I can’t believe you took another one in”
“Why take in more horses if you can’t afford it and then ask for donations”
“If you’re gonna do this at least take in ones that you can make money off of”

I don’t do this for money.

I do this for my heart. I do this for their heart.

They all get a second chance at life whether it’s with a new home or with me until they are ready to cross over into the next world.

I’ve been told I have a savior complex. Maybe I do, but that’s because no one saved me when I needed it.

So yes, I got another horse

Tried cleaning her up a bit but she isn’t a fan of the water. A light rinse off and some braids for Miss Nova ✨🖤💛

Photos from Southern Arizona Equine Rehabilitation - SAER's post 09/13/2024

✨Nova✨

I was contacted by the Pima County Sheriff’s Dept yesterday concerning a horse in need of placing.

Upon arrival she was clearly dehydrated and had missed several meals. Previous owner took it upon themselves to do her teeth on their own using sandpaper and a hoof rasp.

She is a sweet little babe and I can’t wait to share her transformation journey with you all.

Vet and farrier care are scheduled for next week ❤️‍🩹

09/13/2024

This pic doesn’t show how skinny she really is 🤦🏻‍♀️ She’s settling in nicely and has fresh food and water. Formal introduction in the morning 💛🖤

Maleficent got her 1st pair of shoes today.

It started off great with the first hoof. As soon as he was done, she placed it underneath herself right where it needed to be.

The 2nd hoof, well that was a 💩 show 🤦🏻‍♀️

The amount of patience and kindness that Dan showed to her was more than I expected. I can’t thank him enough for helping to get this girl back to feeling her best.

Once she begins to settle into her fancy new shoes, I will continue with bodywork to make sure she is adjusting correctly and comfortable

It really does take a village ❤️‍🩹

Lemmy joined the herd of misfits today!

Since her leg is now healed and her weight is looking good, I figured it’s time to put her out with the rest to work on building muscles and manners. Not that she doesn’t have manners, she’s the sweetest little lady ever. However with her new outlook on life, she needs to find her place amongst the horses.

She is no longer the starved, neglected, girl at the bottom. Her confidence is growing daily ❤️‍🩹

Photos from Southern Arizona Equine Rehabilitation - SAER's post 08/31/2024

This girl has some pretty nasty laminitis as well as an abscess that finally blew.

For those that have followed from the beginning, know that Maleficent has some pretty significant trauma. She has come so far but her feet have always been an issue. She has refused every farrier that has come along. Myself and my friend Alex have been the only ones that can do anything with her feet.

Until now…

I want to give a huge shout out to for the patience and kindness you showed. The fact that she even nuzzled you after to thank you, speaks volumes ❤️‍🩹

Nearly 3 weeks after surgery and she’s almost healed ❤️‍🩹

Photos from Southern Arizona Equine Rehabilitation - SAER's post 08/27/2024

Welp, no baby and one nasty hoof abscess

I’m not going to go into all the details, but Maleficent is fine and will have some minor adjustments made to get this weight off.

She will join the herd as soon as this abscess heals ❤️‍🩹

Thank you Auntie for spending the morning with us!

08/21/2024

Day after surgery vs today. Vet is very pleased with her healing process. Daily red light therapy, cleaning, and fly protection to make sure she heals quickly and properly ❤️‍🩹

Today has been quiet

I’ve gone through all the emotions. Quietly sorting them out in my head.

It’s been a year. So many things have changed because of you. Your death served a greater purpose. One that I will continue to fight for.

I love and miss you Aurora

Our morning and evening routine…. Thank you Taryn Ashley for your donation of swat…. It has been keeping Miss Lemmy fly free while she heals ❤️‍🩹🚫🪰

Day 1 of healing…..

This girl has just impressed me so much. Her leg has had to have been so painful for the last several months.

With all that aside, she has allowed me to wash, scrub, flush, and apply meds/salves to it multiple times a day for the last 2 months without a fight.

Today I began color therapy to assist in her healing process and protecting against infection. I can’t wait to see the final results ❤️‍🩹

Day 384 of being preggo with me…. This poor girl needs to let this baby go already 🫠

08/13/2024

Thank you auntie Bri for fly sheet. Fits her perfectly. Got Miss Lemmy all cleaned up and as much fly protection that I could give her…. I really think this baby blue is her color 🍋💙

As you swipe the pics get worse 🩸🩸🩸

Thank you Dr Brooks from Freedom Run Equine Veterinary Service, PLLC and Victoria Land for relieving this girl of her pain.

This stick was almost completely surrounded by a huge ball of scar tissue, meaning it had been there for several months prior to her arrival in June. She has a lot of healing to do, but it should move along nicely now that the stick has been removed.

I will never understand why people choose to neglect and abuse their animals. Unfortunately people will continue to get away with it because the courts just don’t see the importance of handing out consequences for these individuals.

If anyone would like to donate towards Lemmy’s surgery, you can do so by contacting Freedom Run Equine directly at (520) 310-2362

Lemmy’s surgery is scheduled for Monday!

Upon intake, I was told that Lemmy had coliced the week prior. During the colic, she fell and impaled herself on an unknown object. Vet care was never received.

After talking to the vet, it was determined that the injury had to have happened long before the previous owner stated.

This poor girl has been fighting a nasty infection for several months. Hopefully once the object is removed, her recovery will be fast tracked ❤️‍🩹

It was a busy morning for the girls!

Lemmy got her toes done and wasn’t too thrilled about it. Dan with Triple P Equine Performance was amazing with her even with her multiple kick attempts 🤦🏻‍♀️

Dr Brooks with Freedom Run came out and confirmed there is definitely something stuck in her leg. What it is, we won’t know until after her surgery.

Maleficent is waaaaay past her due date but the baby is still moving. She has become lame on all 4 feet 🤦🏻‍♀️ We are getting some boots to offer her some extra support until this baby decides to come.

Donations are so badly needed for Lemmy’s upcoming surgery.

As always thank you for your support

The girls were caught givin loves to each other 🥰 Maleficent is such a codependent horse. Yes, horses are herd animals but when she claims you as hers, she is stuck to you like glue. Sadly, within the last year, 3 of her besties have passed on. I can’t wait for her to have this baby so that they can be together ❤️‍🩹

This girl is just blossoming. She has the sweetest demeanor and just wants love. We are almost at the 2 month mark now. We still have a lot of weight to gain but just look at the change in her posture. I am doing color therapy along with craniosacral and myofascial release with light bodywork. X-rays and farrier were delayed due to weather but will be getting done next week ❤️‍🩹

I love getting updated pics about my Disney Dames. Nyla, previously Snow, is living her best life on 15 acres with her friends 🤍

07/24/2024

This little lady’s leg just doesn’t want to heal. We’ve done 2 rounds of meds plus a round of topical antibiotics. Vet is coming back out to do X-rays to make sure there isn’t a foreign body that may have broke off inside when she fell.

Vet bills are at their highest at the moment, due to Apache’s unexpected euthanasia and removal ($1000), and will no doubt continue to grow through her rehab.

Any donation is so greatly appreciated

Today marks 1 year since Maleficent and Aurora came back home to me. As most of you know, Aurora only stayed 3 short weeks before I had to let her go. So much has happened in this last year. Loss, heartbreak, frustration, anger, you name it. One thing that hasn’t happened is the birth of this baby!!!!

07/18/2024

I love a juicy 🍑

As she continues to gain weight and build muscle, I am starting to see inconsistency in her development. Now that she has a little bit to work with, I’ll be starting some light bodywork to try and release tension and even her out a bit ❤️‍🩹

07/10/2024

The vet came out and gave her a looksie.

Overall she thinks she is pretty solid other than the obvious issues. She needs to gain more weight before we do teeth and to rule out any actual lameness. She’s a little wonky but that’s to be expected when you have absolutely no muscle.

As always, donations are helpful and so very appreciated! With the unexpected passing of Apache, vet bills are pretty high.

My boy

This was so completely unexpected. When I got the call this morning I was expecting to hear that Maleficent had her baby, not that you were in the process of passing.

The vet believes he had a stroke. It was a pretty traumatic experience and I can’t thank Alex enough for being there when I couldn’t.

Thank you to Dr Lindsey with for responding so quickly.

Until we meet again sweet boy….

Run fast and run free in Heaven’s Herd 🌈🐴

I love you Apache
