So have kind of a PSA announcement to make. When I was getting ready to check on someone vehicle today, I noticed something oddly peculiar when opened up the hood to check A/C and brakes for someone. The PCM/ECM (engine computer) was on top of the exhaust manifold cover. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ Noticed the battery was an Everstart (Walmart) and noticed the battery tie down clamp was a good 1 to 2 inches away from it. Heard from the client that Walmart installed the battery, that right there told me everything. If people want to get a battery installed at Walmart and oil change and even have oil change done by Midas. I get it, they offer service for "free" or are "professionals," but I am a little flustered. Seeing an engine computer on top of someone exhaust manifold cover and battery not even installed correctly, that has flown me over the top. Please folks, keep an eye on things if at all possible or take your vehicle to more of reputable shop or mobile technicians. In the past week I have seen Midas do a poor oil change and Walmart almost cause a person a new ECM. Please folks, make sure these places are doing their jobs correctly or something. This makes myself and other guys in the field look really bad, hence why we care more on quality not quantity. The picture is of Midas oil change results on an oil filter. Didn't take a picture, and should have of the ECM on the exhaust cover. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
