National Car Care Awareness Month is April.
• Always follow a service schedule.
• Be sure to have your car inspected if there may be a problem.
• Correct the problem to protect safety and prevent larger repairs.
Roughly 90% of vehicles are in need of service, but tackling these repairs one by one will help get your car back into tip-top shape. Here are some tips to keep your car up and running.
• Schedule to have your vehicle looked over at least twice a year. A well-tuned engine delivers better fuel economy and produces the lowest level of emissions.
• Change the oil and filters per your owner’s manual. Periodic oil and filter changes keeps your engine clean. Air filters help the engine breath clean air to keep it cool, the cabin filter helps you breath clean air when you’re running the A/C or heater.
• Have your alignment checked at least annually with the rough and rugged Tucson roads, potholes and other conditions. This can take a toll on the cars steering and suspension, putting your car out of alignment which will reduce the life of your tires from improper wear.
• Inspect your windshield wipers and all lights on the car. Lights and wipers play a huge role in safe driving in Arizona. You never know when that dust storm or sudden downpour will hit.
Be sure to schedule your appointments soon to prevent trouble later! The hot summer months are coming up and these are our busiest months.
