We are looking for motivated, self-starts to join our culinary team! Breakfast Line Cooks will be responsible for food preparation, providing quality plated breakfast meals to our guests. A positive attitude is a MUST as maintaining our guest satisfaction is our team's #1 goal. Read below to see if you fit the description!

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

*Prepare and cook food to meet guest and Management expectations while maintaining a safe and clean workspace
*Follow all Food & Beverage policies regarding storage and food handling
*Maintain open lines of communication with direct supervisors and managers to correct any shortages or problems such as food service preparation or delivery, or comments of Guests as to menu items
*Upon completion of food service, ensure all dishes used in service or preparation of breakfast are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with standards and procedures

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

*Strong food safety and handling skills
Excellent food preparation, cooking, and plating skills
*Eye for detail
*Able to work a varied schedule including holidays, weekends as business dictates

Experience and/or Education:

*Cooking knowledge
*Experience in hotel/banquet kitchen or any commercial kitchen setting preferred
*ServSafe handling certificate preferred

Physical Requirements:

*Able to walk and stand for five (5) hours at a time, a total of ten (10) hours in total
*Able to continually reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe during the entire shift
*Able to lift 45 pounds
*Ability to work around knives, ovens, stoves, fire, wet/damp and hot areas, refrigeration/freezer units
*Able to work a varied schedule including holidays, weekends, and early mornings

On this day in 1974, we opened our doors for business. While we turn 47 today, we don't look a day over brand-new. Our recent renovation included guest rooms, public areas, meeting space, and exteriors!
Our hotel was the 4th in the fledging Doubletree brand, which was started in Scottsdale in 1968. In 1999, we became a part of the Hilton Family and are today a landmark hotel in the Tucson market!
Thank you to all for 47 years of success and we look forward to serving the travelers to The Old Pueblo for many years to come!

A former team member recently stopped in and gave us these photos from the early 1990s of our Painter Extraordinaire, Doris! For what it's worth, Doris is back on the team after all these years and is responsible for much of the beautiful new painting and colors that you see throughout our newly renovated property!

This article from January 16, 1972 explains why Doubletree Corp decided to build their first Tucson venture here. It was a restaurant called The Doubletree and was located at 60 N. Alvernon Way. The building still stands and recently reopened as "Locale Neighborhood Italian" (great place by the way!).
The building hasn't been affiliated with DoubleTree since 1978 but still holds an important place in our history!
This article also gives a nice snapshot of the business market in Tucson 49 years ago!

47 years after this "new beginning" for our hotel, let's hope that 2021 is a year of growth and new beginnings for all of us!

Santa arrives at the Tucson airport December 1934!

From 1974 to 1982, our lobby bar was sunken. In a major renovation in 1982, the lobby bar was raised. This is one of the only known photos of the original sunken lobby bar. If you have any photos of the hotel from back then, we would love to see them!
