Day 2 w/ Rockside Reach International didn’t disappoint! Breakfast sandwiched between volcanoes on Lake Atitlan, boat ride, chocolate factory, cruising beautiful streets in the back of a pickup , chocolate covered bananas. We have a killer group from Tucson and Prescott AZ and some ease coasters from PA. GREAT group of people.

Good morning!! Bright and early out in Marana to volunteer with Habitat For Humanity. We will be out of the office today so we’ll catch you tomorrow!

Grateful for the opportunity this week to help out another one of our Afghan refugee friends. He came to us with a severely discolored and infected front tooth. Here’s Crystal getting ready for the root canal and to help this guy out. His English=not so good. My Poshto= not so good (nonexistent actually). But we both speak Russian (average at best) so it was a win! That’s week 2 of our reset in working w/ IRC. Hopefully it will turn into a great long term service opportunity 🙏 and our efforts with Rockside Reach Can grow. We feel blessed for the opportunity to help.

Every morning I open these blinds at work and look at our flag. So grateful for living in this country. As we watched this video in our morning huddle this morning we were all filled with gratitude, respect, and love for all of our servicemen and women. I would also add the love and respect for all the wives, children, and family members holding strong at home while loved ones are deployed. Thank you for your sacrifice 🙏. I celebrate you as much today as those in uniform.🙏

Today we’re choosing to look beyond the sadness, and fear we experienced on September 11, 2001. Focusing on the ordinary people who performed extraordinary acts that day. Memorializing the heros who sacrificed their lives for strangers. Recognizing the time when life stood still. Remembering the feeling of a country and people united despite our differences. 20 years later feeling proud to be an American. God bless America.

As our Dr Jackson said: “This Memorial Day weekend, I can't help but reflect on those that have given their lives to ensure the freedoms we so often take for granted. Despite the discord that may currently exist amongst its citizens, there is at least one thing we as Americans can all agree on: the men and women of our armed forces are TRUE heroes. So let me raise a figurative glass to toast those of your families that have or a currently serving in the military and say THANK YOU- your service is neither unappreciated nor forgotten.”
