Dr. Leon is a Tucson Top Doctor of Vascular Surgery. When not caring for his patients, he can be found in the community or mountains, leading the lifestyle he advocates for us all to live. He is no stranger to the El Tour de Tucson or epic ultra-marathons; read on to learn more. “Dr. Leon’s perseverance through this race serves as a profound inspiration for not only the patients we take care of, but our entire Pima Heart and Vascular team,” says Jennifer Clark, PA, MBA, Pima Vascular Services Director. We asked him what keeps him returning to the iconic bicycle race each year. "The older I get, the more I realize how much we chase after the wrong things, such as how much we have, and not after the right things, like the things that truly make us happy. Running, cycling, hiking, or any outdoor activities make me the happiest. Competing makes me happy. Feeling healthy and being able to compete with younger people makes me happy. Setting an example for my children, patients, colleagues, and loved ones makes me happy. When people ask, why do you do this? My answer is that it simply makes me happy. Tying my own pursuit of happiness with helping an organization like "Courtney's Courage" is priceless. There is no match to the feeling of helping kids and their families suffering from cancer.
