Auction selections have been made!
Now…to do all the work involved in photographing them. 😝
It’s looking like mostly bucks, some that are my key producers! Very excited about the group being offered. A couple are mid-molt so I might have to use some photos of them from better hair days…but we all know Dwarfs just get better with age!
As a side note, I do this auction each year to raise funds to help youth get to convention. The first few years, 100% went to paying for entry fees for ANDRC youth members. In the last two years, in addition to entry fees, it has also purchased plane tickets, paid for hotel rooms, paid gas to get families to the show, and even a few meals for youth who travel solo to the show. Last year, such an extreme amount of support came in that we were also able to donate to the ANDRC Bramhall Scholarship Fund and the ARBA Library. This year will be no different with whatever is raised going back to supporting youth and our wonderful rabbit clubs!
Several have inquired so making a general post…YES we will have an auction this year and YES if you are a youth member who is needing some financial help with entries or making the trip, we are interested in hearing from you. Thanks to these auctions, we’ve been able to help a lot of kids show at convention and don’t think this year should be any different!
Likely starting the auction the end of September-ish. More to come!
This Broken Junior Buck, JER’S AMIGO, was looking so handsome in his cage this evening — he had to come out for some table time. Really loving how many of the Brokens are developing!
HAVANA Lilac Junior Buck also available. Message for details! SOLD

Answers to questions that are commonly asked:
-I will not bring these on a plane with me if I’ll be judging near you. Happy to work with reliable transport but taking rabbits on planes during summer months never ends well, please don’t ask. *** I am driving to Ignacio, CO show in mid-June 😊***
-these are NOT my culls. Rabbits that I wouldn’t use in my own program are culled, not sold to fellow breeders. These are rabbits that made the first several cuts and I see value in for my breeding program — but I’ve only got so many cages. Some of these were rabbits I held back as Convention “young senior” prospects and they may very well blossom to be shown there if you so choose.
-most of these are pretty young and need time to develop, but I know how my rabbits develop and see potential in all listed.
-“brood” doesn’t always mean large. It just means it’s more of a “parts rabbit” than one I would eagerly encourage you to show. Parts are important to me in a breeding program and could be to others too.
-No, I will not hold these until Convention for pickup. I’m only letting these go to make room for other up-comers.
CENA - Chestnut Jr Buck - Cute Buck! Nice topline, ears, fur. Just needs to mature — he’s got growing to do, this is one I’m gonna say “trust me on this.” Out of ‘23 BOSG National Black Doe. Likely carries chin.
S O L D - SABE - Black Otter Jr Doe - brood style doe, great parts. Strong body, short and wide, deep. Decent head, long in ear to balance but not over 2 1/4”. Out of ‘23 National BOB winner.
S O L D - BLANCA - REW Jr Doe - Beautiful, showy little doe. Excited to see how she matures. Out of broken self and self, safe for use with shaded if you’re okay with Brokens.
S O L D - NOCHE - Broken Black Otter Jr Buck - Promising little buck with really nice pattern, seems to be on the smaller side. Sire was BOV Broken ‘22 Convention/ 1st SB ‘23 Nationals (Pat Carroll Buck).
S O L D - TARDES - Broken Black Otter Jr Buck - Exceptional type on this rabbit, beautiful head markings, but only a couple spots on body. Some judges will DQ for “appearing to be Charlie.” Too nice in type to not offer up for a broken breeding program.
S O L D - PALO - Chin Jr Buck - Pretty little head and ear on this buck, needs some time to muscle up and grow. Comes from a slower developing line.
S O L D - AVION - Chin Jr Buck - Showy little buck with lots of potential. Nice head, good topline, nice ears but carried in a bit of a ‘V’
S O L D - PLATA - Chin Jr Doe - Brood style doe, going to be a big beauty. Nice head and ear, really solid body. Just proportionally a larger doe, but well balanced.
S O L D - ANILLA - Chin Jr Doe - Sister to the doe above and same exact comments. It was a litter of 4 does and I’m keeping the matching STS sisters. 😊
S O L D - HIGA - Chin Jr Doe - sharp looking young doe. Nice structure overall with good muscling for this stage of development. Nice head and ear.
S O L D - BOTELA - Chin Jr Doe - smaller showy doe, good head and ear, could use more shoulder. Excited to see this doe grow up a bit.
This little guy has been so fun to watch develop! Not looking too shabby for a little 2 1/2 month old.
Loving this Opal Jr Doe! One of my favorite colors. 🩵
Loving this Silver Tipped Steel Junior Doe. She is well balanced and beautifully typed, plus has excellent color and fur! Really excited with how all the STS group is looking — labor of love on these 🩶😊🩶
⭐️Gold Star Registration Status⭐️ — a first for my rabbitry
Achieving this means every rabbit on the pedigree is a registered Grand Champion with ARBA. On this pedigree, they all happen to be “Jer’s” too! And of all things…a Blue Doe!
Supporting ARBA and registering my animals is something I’ve always done through my years of raising rabbits. Each breeder can decide if they want to register their rabbits or not, but I enjoy the process and think it’s a great way to help ARBA document what is happening across all breeds.

UPDATED
For those who have been inquiring about rabbits -- YES, I have many available for pickup in Louisville. Unfortunately, getting ready to leave work for that many days to attend the show means less time in the barn on the lead up than preferred.
I have a list. I do not have photos of all, you can ask. I have not printed all the pedigrees so may not know exactly who parents are when you ask.
I can answer questions, you can trust me and make a decision, or you can pass for someone who will send you the 100 pictures you're asking for ;) No judgement here, but know that all of these animals are ones I am happy to come home with if they don't move, but I am likely keeping a son/brother/mother/father/daughter so can share the others. And if you aren't comfortable getting rabbits that way, by all means, don't! :)
We had 400+ babies this year, I culled that down to the top 75 or so. These are my keepers. The ones I did not think would do the breed any good are long gone. If the list indicates they are "brood" that just means I don't think they are going to win, doesn't necessarily mean they can't show.
Hoping the above answers lots of questions....here is the list, message me with further inquiries:

Congrats to the winners of the auction, listed below. I will be in touch with each of you shortly.

2023 ARBA Convention Auction - Benefits Youth! Silent auction '2023 ARBA Convention Auction - Benefits Youth!' hosted online at 32auctions.
Just about two days left in the Auction! A couple of these beautiful bucks don't seem to be getting a ton of attention...and they are a couple of the favorites here 😄 A reminder that Gold Tipped Steels can now show in Blue, Chocolate, and Lilac, which means they breed well with Opal, Chocolate Agouti, and Lynx -- the opportunities are endless with Steel!
And these Chin and Squirrel boys are some of the bucks I am most excited to show in Louisville! Don't miss your chance to take them home with you 🥰
After much thought and consideration, I am adding a really special rabbit to the Auction.
JER'S REFRIED, Black Otter Buck, and full sibling to this year's 2023 ANDRC Best of Breed JER'S BEANS, is now part of the auction.
He is a stunning buck who is already producing beautiful kits showing a lot of promise. I simply do not need two brothers as herd bucks, so one should go to help someone else...and, let's be real, BEANS has a special place with me so he isn't leaving.
In my opinion, this could be a herd defining buck. He comes from a strong line including two recent National winners (BEANS 2023 ANDRC BOB, Emery's DEAN 2019 ANDRC Youth BOSB) and continues to stamp out great traits for those working with this line. Reserve is set accordingly for a rabbit I hate to see go but am excited to see serve someone else!
🚨AUCTION GUIDELINES🚨
I know this is long….but if you plan to bid, please read completely! Also, see below posts to see how animals from last year's auction did at Convention!
• Auction will begin Friday, August 25, 2023. Each rabbit's "reserve" has been placed on the bidding site as the starting bid. Should an animal not have the reserve met, it will remain mine. Bidding increments are set to $25.
• Auction will close Thursday, August 31st, 2023 at 7PM PST.Hosted on 32auctions.com/modernfarms2023
• Full descriptions of each rabbit are listed on their page when you click into the Auction Lot.
The auction will be run by doing racehorse style bidding. When the time expires, all lots will be considered sold unless a bid was made within 3 minutes of the end, in that case extended bidding will follow. Time will be extended until there is no bidding for 3 minutes. With this option, all lots will close simultaneously.
• Extended bidding is managed on the auction site platform, this is not in my control. Please use the refresh button as needed to ensure your bids are being placed.A MAXIMUM EXTENSION OF 30 MINUTES is implemented by the auction host site.PLEASE NOTE THAT TIME STAMPS DO NOT APPEAR ON ALL COMPUTERS USING THIS WEBSITE -- Please know that the timelines will be treated fairly, rules will be followed, and privacy will be respected for those bidding if there is information I can see on the back end, it will not be made public.
• Once bidding closes, the rabbit will be marked “CLOSED” with the winner listed thereafter on Modern Farms US page.
• All bids should be placed on the individual lot post on 32auctions.com, not this post or on any other media platform (i.e. Facebook).
• All bids not placed in USD will be deleted.
• All bids will be placed in USD and all payment must be made via PayPal, Zelle, or Venmo in US currency. Any fees charged by those sites will be paid by the bidder. Please use "Friends & Family" function on PayPal or you will be charged a fee.
• 100% of the purchase price is due within 24 hours of the close of bidding. Any rabbit not paid for in this timeframe will go to the next highest bidder.
• Rabbits in the auction will be delivered and entered at the ARBA Convention in October in Louisville, KY by me. If you will not be at the ARBA Convention in Louisville, you must arrange transportation from the Convention. I will not ship the animals prior to Convention nor will I ship them after the show. Should you choose to set up alternative transport, health of the animal(s) is only guaranteed in my care. Photos will be taken prior to sending with a transporter and sent to the buyer to show a clean bill of health. I would prefer to deliver the animals to you myself at Convention. Should anything happen to the animal, while it is in my possession and prior to delivery, that results in the death of the animal, a replacement of equal or better quality will be made after discussion with the buyer. There are no refunds since these funds will be donated.
• All animals listed in the auction have either been shown or have been assessed by at least one ARBA Licensed Judge and myself. Both a judge and I have inspected the animals for DQs. I am comfortable stating that all offered are free of DQs at this time and will guarantee that upon transfer of ownership. The exception to this is weight, since that can flex regularly -- none are genetically animals that will be more than 2 1/2 pounds upon maturity if properly fed and cared for and all fall within the breed weight limits at this time. Some Juniors may exceed Junior weight at the Convention and may be shown in a higher age classification as allowed by the ARBA Standard of Perfection.
I cannot guarantee placements or wins with these animals at any show. There is also a chance that any rabbit, these included, may develop some sort of DQ in the future that is not known at this time -- in that case, animals will NOT be replaced or refunded and you acknowledge that the animal, when purchased, was free of any ailments or DQs.
These are all animals I consider worthy of keeping in my own possession for breeding and exhibiting, and there is no nefarious intent or motive in the selling of these selected animals. Upon pickup of the animal, you must inspect (or a trusted person of your choice can do so in your absence). Once out of my possession, the rabbit will be considered final sale and no returns or replacements will be made.
• Proceeds from this auction will go towards various charitable causes within the rabbit world. Depending on what is collected, I will determine how to fairly distribute. If there are any unassigned funds when all is said and done, these will be donated to the ANDRC Darrell Bramhall Scholarship Fund or held in a reserve to be used for future charitable causes. For full transparency, all funds collected from this auction are placed into my personal accounts and distributed by me, at my discretion.
I started this auction as a means to benefit youth members of the ANDRC, but this is not an ANDRC facilitated auction and the ANDRC cannot be held responsible for the happenings of the auction or the funds. Again, this is in no way affiliated with any club and is done by me as an individual.
Please trust that this is done for the good of our clubs and funds are used accordingly. In 2018, funds raised helped paid for exhibitor fees and entries for 21 Youth Exhibitors and their 220+ entries to the ARBA Convention. In 2019, we paid for over 200 entries and also contributed to plane tickets, banquet tickets, and travel expenses for 24 ANDRC Youth members. In 2022, proceeds from this auction were donated to fund the trips of 6 different kids to Convention, and also paid for an additional 11 youth members' entries in the show. This is not done for my personal gain or benefit and the many buyers over the years are very appreciated! We have also had several individuals just send money to boost the fund so more kids can be helped. I am humbled each year at the generosity members show to our Youth and am happy to do this to help kids that remind me of me when I was trying to get to Convention. 😀
