Civil Air Patrol Cookies
My nephew was promoted to the highest rank and earned the highest honor possible for a Cadet in the Civil Air Patrol. Less than 1% of all cadets reach this level! So proud!

I tried to make cookies with the CAP Emblem, the Spaatz bars (silver diamonds) and his rank/name. The shapes came out wonky (maybe the sprinkles caused that?) and the stencils were difficult to work with (my first time), but I tried!

The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Baking Day!

I spent pretty much an entire day making and decorating adorable snowman cookies. I don't do cookies very often, so I'm pretty slow. They were going to be gifts for my coworkers' children and I was pretty happy with them. I was putting on the finishing touches (fringe on the scarves) when disaster struck! The sheet pan they were on was bumped and most of the cookies flipped upside down. Sadly, there were casualties - two were decapitated, many were blinded, the rest had minor injuries.

And I broke my marble rolling pin. 😭

Maybe I need to stick to cupcakes!

I signed up a while ago to be a "Sugar Angel" (a volunteer baker) for Icing Smiles, Inc. a non-profit organization that provides celebration cakes to critically/chronically ill children.

Today I got to deliver my first "call to action". The birthday girl wanted a beach sunset in blue and purple. I wanted so badly for it to be perfect, it's SO far from perfect! 😂 The birthday girl loved it and that's all that matters.

It's a 4 layer marble cake, chocolate filling and vanilla buttercream. Everything is edible except the sign, the shells and critters are buttercream.

It's also my first airbrushed cake.

Delivering it to the family was such a blessing. 🙏 ♥

I finally had a request for a TP Cake and 💩 cupcakes.

The cake is Vanilla with a raspberry filling and SMBC, the cupcakes are death-by-chocolate with whipped cream frosting.

Thanks to the heat causing my buttercream to melt, there are many flaws in the design, but it was delicious!

Emmett's Banana Split Birthday Cake
Emmett designed his own cake, I tried to make it come to life.

Three layers of Banana cake, Strawberry and Pineapple fillings with Vanilla Ermine Frosting and Chocolate SMBC and of course, cherries on top.

I thought this one would be easy, I was wrong. So time consuming with all the color mixing - two sets of rainbow colors, one set for the blue character and filling and one set for the drip. My 1st buttercream transfer - I need to practice. I could not get the colors smooth, but the drip was great. Rainbow friends.
