Happy Friday, or should we say Fries-Day? It’s National French Fry Day! 🍟

The southwest has put our own twist on the classic bit of Americana to create Carne Asada Fries. They originated in San Diego, but have become popular staples of taco trucks and taquerias all over Arizona.

Carne Asada Fries are similar to nachos, but with French fries instead of chips, typically made with fresh-grilled carne asada, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, and cheese.

You can enjoy some carne asada fries at several places in and around Marana, including La Carreta del Rorro (pictured here with head chef and owner Ramon Bringas), Taqueria Plaza’s, Filiberto's (with 3 Marana-area locations), Nico's Tacos (two Marana locations), The Blacktop Grill, and other taco trucks and restaurants throughout the area.
