Hola everyone! After some crazy busy weeks and tons of new followers, it's time to reintroduce myself!
* I'm Chef Lydia Mendez. I started as a home baker back home, doing custom cakes and treat tables. Years later, I had an opportunity to go to school to become a professional Pastry Chef and tada! I'm a full fledged Chef now!
* I'm from Brooklyn NY, hence the NYC in our biz name. I'm also Boricua, (Puerto Rican 🇵🇷) and that's the basis of our delicious creations and what we share with the world.
* I have Celiac Disease, which as an auto immune disease and the only cure is curbing gluten from my diet. I've had for almost 10 years and am thankful that the food scene has changed since the beginning and I can eat sooo much more!
* I love food and have always been about it since I can remember. I'm passionate and very serious about authenticity and sharing it through what we eat, which is why I created . It's vital as a society that we share who we are with each other and learn to love and appreciate our cultures!
*I may look mean but I promise you I'm not. I'm a product of my environment and I gotta adjust to my surroundings before I let loose 😝
*I'm a mom to 3 awesome kids and 2 dogs. I'm happily married to my best friend and biggest support system.
*It's taken what feels like a lifetime to get where I am but I swear to you it's been worth it. I've got so much more to offer and am thankful you're a part of the journey!!!

Shouting out my other half!
As a mom of 3, a wife, an entrepreneur and a woman, my life is pretty busy. I am blessed to have a man, a husband by my side that supports me as I make my dreams and ambitions come to life. I would not be able to accomplish all that I have in the short time that I've been in Washington without him.
So today, I'm sharing just how thankful I am. He's helped me tremendously from day one and hopefully soon, I'll be able to help him live his dream as a trophy husband... lol j/k..... 😝
They say that behind every successful man is a woman. Well, I say behind every successful individual is a blessing.... 😉
