Hello, Tree City Chiropractic community!

Spring is in full bloom, and many of us are eager to get our hands dirty in the garden. Whether planting vibrant flowers, nurturing a vegetable patch, or simply enjoying the fresh air, gardening is a beautiful way to stay active and connect with nature. However, gardening can sometimes challenge those with low back pain. At Tree City Chiropractic, we believe that with the proper techniques and precautions, you can enjoy all the benefits of gardening without aggravating your back.

Here are some tips to help you garden safely and effectively:

1. Warm-Up Before You Dig In
Just like any physical activity, gardening requires a good warm-up. Take a few minutes to stretch your back, legs, and arms. Gentle yoga or light stretching can increase flexibility and prepare your muscles for the tasks ahead.

2. Use the Right Tools
Invest in ergonomic gardening tools that reduce strain on your back. Long-handled tools can help you avoid bending over too much, while kneeling pads make it easier to work at ground level. Raised garden beds are another excellent option, allowing you to garden at a comfortable height.

3. Practice Proper Lifting Techniques
Remember to bend at your knees, not your waist, when lifting heavy bags of soil or large pots. Keep the object close to your body and avoid twisting your spine. If an object is too heavy, ask for help or use a wheelbarrow.

4. Take Regular Breaks
Gardening can be meditative, but taking breaks is essential to avoid overworking your back. Stand up, stretch, and walk around every 15-20 minutes to prevent stiffness and muscle fatigue.

5. Stay Hydrated and Mind Your Posture
Hydration is vital to keeping your muscles flexible and reducing the risk of injury. Also, be mindful of your posture while gardening. Keep your back straight and avoid hunching over for extended periods.

6. Listen to Your Body
If you feel any discomfort or pain while gardening, stop and take a break. It’s important not to push through the pain, as this can lead to more severe injuries. If your back pain persists, consider scheduling an appointment with us at Tree City Chiropractic. We’re here to help you manage and alleviate pain so you can enjoy your favorite activities.

7. End with a Cool Down
After a fulfilling gardening session, do some gentle stretching to cool down. This can help prevent soreness and keep your muscles limber.

Gardening should be a joyful and relaxing activity, not a source of pain. By following these tips, you can keep your lower back pain in check and fully enjoy the therapeutic benefits of gardening. If you have any concerns or need personalized advice, don’t hesitate to contact our Tree City Chiropractic team. We’re here to support your health and well-being every step of the way.

Enjoy your weekend,
Dr. Dan Lujan D.C. Tree City Chiropractic P.C.

As we approach Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we all at Tree City Chiropractic pause to reflect on Dr. King's profound impact and enduring legacy. His vision for equality, justice, and a united community continues to inspire us in our daily lives and work.

Dr. King's commitment to service, health, and well-being for all aligns closely with our mission at Tree City Chiropractic. Just as he sought to heal the divisions in our society, we strive to promote healing and wellness within our community. His message reminds us that proper health extends beyond physical well-being to encompass a just, equitable, and caring society.

On this day of remembrance, we are reminded of Dr. King's famous words: "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" In honor of his legacy, we encourage our staff and patients to engage in acts of service and kindness. Whether volunteering in our community, offering support to those in need, or simply sharing a message of hope and unity, every act contributes to the greater good Dr. King envisioned.

As we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, let's carry his message of love, peace, and unity forward in all that we do. Let’s strive to make our community a place where everyone is respected, valued, and allowed to thrive in health and happiness.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." - Martin Luther King Jr.

Hello, wonderful community!

As the leaves change colors and the air becomes crisp, we at Tree City Chiropractic are excited to embrace the beauty and freshness of the fall season. The vibrant tapestry of red, orange, and yellow foliage reminds us of the importance of change, renewal, and alignment in nature and our bodies.

🍁 5 Tips to Enjoy Fall to the Fullest 🍁

1. Nature Walks: Our city has some fantastic trails. Take a leisurely walk or a brisk hike. It is excellent for your spine and posture, and the serene environment can help reduce stress.

2. Stretch Outdoors: As the morning air chills, find a sunny spot in your yard or park. A simple 10-minute stretch can improve flexibility and circulation.

3. Pumpkin Picking: Visit a local pumpkin patch. It’s a fun activity, and carrying pumpkins can be a gentle workout, too! Just remember to lift with your legs, not your back.

4. Stay Hydrated: Even though it’s more relaxed, your body needs hydration. Warm herbal teas can be a delightful way to stay hydrated and warm.

5. Regular Chiropractic Visits: Keep your body aligned and in its best shape as you get active this fall. We’re here to help with aches, pains, or regular tune-ups!

Let’s cherish this beautiful season together. Wishing you vibrant health and joyful moments surrounded by the magical aura of fall.
Stay well, stay active, and enjoy this fall season! 🧡

Warm regards,
The Tree City Chiropractic Team

As the back-to-school season kicks into full gear, countless kids are again donning backpacks filled with textbooks, notebooks, lunch boxes, and other school essentials. However, there’s a growing concern among parents and healthcare professionals alike: these backpacks are becoming too heavy for our children, placing unnecessary strain on their developing spines and shoulders. For many kids, a loaded backpack can weigh as much as 20% of their body weight, a load that even adults would find burdensome. This disproportionate weight can lead to various problems, from poor posture and back pain to more severe musculoskeletal issues down the road.

Fortunately, there’s a solution in sight for those children grappling with the pains of a heavy backpack: chiropractic care. At Tree City Chiropractic, we’ve noticed an increasing number of students visiting our clinic with back and shoulder complaints. Dr. Lujan D.C., a seasoned chiropractor, has been at the forefront of offering tailored adjustments to these young patients. With precise, gentle adjustments, chiropractic treatments can restore optimal spinal alignment, relieving pain and mitigating the adverse effects of lugging around excessive weight. Moreover, Dr. Lujan provides valuable guidance on proper backpack use and posture, ensuring that children can maintain a healthy spine outside the clinic.

In conclusion, while heavy backpacks remain prevalent, parents need not feel powerless in the face of their children’s discomfort. Regular chiropractic check-ups, especially during the school year, can play a pivotal role in keeping our kids’ spines healthy and pain-free. As we prioritize our children’s academic endeavors, let’s not overlook the fundamental importance of their physical well-being. Tree City Chiropractic supports your child’s journey back to school, ensuring they carry their knowledge with ease and in good health.

With this week’s sizzling temperatures, let’s dive deep into the significance of WATER!

Hello, Tree City Chiropractic family! As your partners in health and wellness, we’re not just concerned about your spine, but about your holistic well-being. On hot weeks like this one, staying hydrated is of utmost importance, and here’s why:

For the Body: Just as our trees need water to stand tall and strong, our bodies need water to maintain balance and function properly. It aids digestion, regulates body temperature, and cushions our joints!

For the Mind: Dehydration can lead to mood fluctuations, decreased focus, and increased fatigue. A well-hydrated brain is a happy brain!

For Healing: As we work with many of you on your chiropractic journeys, remember that water helps transport nutrients necessary for healing and removing waste products.

Tips to Stay Hydrated:
1. Keep a reusable water bottle with you.
2. Infuse your water with slices of fruits or herbs for an added twist.
3. Listen to your body. If you’re thirsty, drink up!
4. Remember that certain foods, like cucumbers, watermelon, and oranges, also contribute to hydration.

Let’s stay hydrated and healthy, Tree City family! When life heats up, let water be your cooling oasis. And remember, if the heat’s affecting your body, we’re here to help realign and rejuvenate.
Stay cool, and drink up!

Warm regards, Tree City Chiropractic Team

Title: The Importance of Seeking Chiropractic Care After a Car Crash.

Accidents are an unfortunate reality of life, and car crashes, in particular, can leave one with various types of injuries and pains, some of which may not manifest immediately. One of the most beneficial actions you can take following a car accident is to schedule a visit with a chiropractor. Here are the key reasons why this is a critical step:

1. Detecting Hidden Injuries: Adrenaline can often mask the pain associated with physical injuries after a car crash. As a result, some injuries like whiplash or soft tissue damage may not present obvious symptoms immediately, only appearing days or weeks later. A chiropractor can help identify these hidden injuries through a thorough examination, ensuring timely treatment and preventing further complications.

2. Non-Invasive Pain Management: One of the most common complaints following a car accident is chronic pain, particularly in the neck and back. Chiropractic care is renowned for effectively managing such pain without surgery or drugs. It provides a natural, non-invasive alternative for pain relief, using spinal adjustments and other techniques to realign the body and promote natural healing.

3. Preventing Long-Term Damage: Without proper treatment, injuries from car crashes can result in long-term damage and chronic pain. Early chiropractic intervention can help prevent this by addressing the root cause of the issue rather than just treating the symptoms. This can help reduce the likelihood of the injury leading to persistent problems in the future.

4. Promoting Full Body Healing: Chiropractic care doesn't just focus on the injury but also promotes overall body health. Restoring the body's alignment enhances the nervous system's function, thereby improving the body's innate healing capabilities. This can result in a faster and more complete recovery.

5. Restoring Mobility: Car accident injuries often lead to stiffness and decreased mobility, affecting daily life. Chiropractic adjustments can help restore your range of motion by reducing inflammation and promoting healing in the affected areas. This can get you back to your regular activities more quickly.

6. Reducing Scar Tissue: After an injury, your body may develop muscle scar tissue, causing discomfort and limiting function. Chiropractors can target the damaged areas and break up the scar tissue faster than a general healing process, helping you recover more comfortably and efficiently.
7. Personalized Treatment Plan: No two car accidents are the same, so the impacts on the body can differ significantly. Chiropractors can develop a personalized treatment plan based on the individual's specific injuries and overall health, ensuring you receive the most effective treatment possible.
In conclusion, seeking chiropractic care after a car crash is crucial for optimal recovery. It not only aids in detecting and treating immediate injuries but also helps to prevent long-term damage and complications. Moreover, it promotes full-body healing, restores mobility, and improves overall well-being. Remember, your health should be your top priority after an accident, and a visit to the chiropractor is a proactive safeguard.

When it's hot outside, drink water to stay healthy and hydrated. Water helps the body keep its temperature even, which makes it work better and gives you more energy. When you don't drink enough water, your body's cells also can't do their jobs. This can make you tired, give you headaches, or make you feel dizzy.

Ensure you drink a lot of water all day during the hot summer months to keep your body hydrated. Aim for at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day, and if you can, bring a reusable water bottle with you to stay hydrated. Dehydration can also be prevented by avoiding overly processed foods and sugary snacks, which force your body to use up its stored energy instead of giving it the nutrients it needs.

Enjoy your summer,
Dr. Daniel Lujan D.C.

Chiropractic treatment is perfect for runners because it improves flexibility and prevents injury. Regular adjustments keep the body aligned, which is especially crucial while running long distances on rough terrain. Adjustments can also help minimize inflammation and joint discomfort linked with running by relieving muscle stress and tension. Furthermore, chiropractic therapy can improve the range of motion and balance strength, which is essential for running. Finally, chiropractic treatments can help repair muscular imbalances created by running, allowing you to run with proper form. General chiropractic therapy is a beautiful approach to improving overall health and running ability.

As a chiropractor, I've seen many patients who come in expecting to feel better after just one adjustment.

Unfortunately, this isn't usually the case. Chiropractic care is an ongoing process that requires regular visits to maintain or improve health. Here are some reasons why keeping your chiropractic appointments is important and why you may not be better after one visit.

First, each spinal adjustment is designed to address a specific issue within the body. When you go into your appointment, we will assess what needs adjusting and then make adjustments accordingly. Even if you feel great after the first adjustment, more work may still need to be done for long-term improvement.

Second, chiropractic care works to improve the overall functioning of your body. It requires multiple visits for all systems to correctly align and work together. Regular visits help ensure this is maintained and any issues can be caught early on and addressed.

Finally, regular chiropractic adjustments promote good posture and help keep you feeling well-balanced and energized throughout the day. If you don't make regular visits, your body may start to slip back into old patterns, which could lead to poor posture or pain down the line.

Regular chiropractic appointments are a great way to ensure that your spine remains healthy and in proper alignment to support the rest of your body in the most effective way possible.

Thank you,
Dr. Daniel Lujan D.C.
