We are sad to announce the passing of Robert W. Gaddis, one of our Partners who helped formed Barrow Gaddis Griffith & Grimm in 1976. An expert in tax matters, he guided countless clients through intricate and complex tax issues.

Barrow & Grimm, P.C. is honored to announce that one its Partners, Brad Heckenkemper, has been re-appointed to the Oklahoma Court on the Judiciary. The Court is comprised of 8 Oklahoma Senior District Court Judges from around the State and one representative appointed by the Oklahoma Bar Association's Board of Governors. At the Court's recent meeting, he was elected to serve as Vice-Presiding Judge of the Court. He has served on the Court since 2013.

The Oklahoma Court on the Judiciary is one of the two independent courts in Oklahoma with exclusive jurisdiction in adjudicating discipline and hearing cases involving the removal of a judge from office, exercising judicial power under the Oklahoma Constitution.

Allen E. Barrow, Jr. Named the Tulsa County Bar Association’s 2016-2017 Golden Rule 1st Quarter Award Recipient

Allen E. Barrow, Jr. is a transactional lawyer who represents individuals in business related affairs, wealth management and estate planning matters. Allen is the son of the late Allen E. Barrow, the former Chief Judge of the Northern District of Oklahoma. He is a founding partner of Barrow & Grimm, PC, which has grown in its 40-year history to be one of the top 10 largest law firms in Tulsa with three former TCBA past presidents.

Allen graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1967 with a degree in finance. Upon receiving his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa in 1969, Allen received his Commission in the United States Army where he served two years and was discharged as a captain in 1971. In 1970 he was admitted to practice in the state of Oklahoma and became a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and Tulsa County Bar Association. He has served on the TCBA board of directors as well as being active in various bar committees and CLE presentations over the span of his career.

Allen is well known for his conscientious representation of his clients without sacrificing the ideals of professionalism when dealing with other attorneys. Whatever the situation facing his client, Alan approaches the client representation with sound judgment and learned advice designed to efficiently resolve matter. “I can think of no one better suited as the Golden Rule recipient than Allen,” said his partner of 40 years, William R Grimm.

In addition to his service to the TCBA, he also serves on the Oklahoma Board of Corrections and Interstate Oil Compact Commission. He is a past director of the National Conference of Community and Justice in Tulsa; past trustee of the Boston Avenue Methodist Church; past president of the Tulsa Tennis Club; and past advisory board member for OU-Tulsa. Allen is also a Sustaining Fellow of both the Tulsa County Bar Foundation and Oklahoma Bar Foundation. In 2013 the Sigma Chi Fraternity named Allen as a Significant Sig for his contributions to his profession and community.

Barrow & Grimm, P.C. welcomes Joseph V. Allen to the firm. Joseph attended the University of Oklahoma, where he received his Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Political Science. Following graduation, he attended the University of Oklahoma College of Law where he was a member of the National Appellate Advocacy Competition team and won the award for best legal brief. He was also named a member of the Order of Barristers for excellence in advocacy. Joseph has practiced in Tulsa since graduating from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2013, and his practice is primarily focused in business law and civil litigation.

Tom Robertson, head of the firm's Labor and Employment Law section, was recently elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of 12 & 12, Inc., a large drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility in Tulsa. Tom has also been designated by his peers a "Superlawyer" in Labor and Employment Law for now 4 consecutive years, 2011 – 2014.

Timothy L. Rogers has become a preferred shareholder in the firm. His practice focuses on business litigation, construction litigation, employment and surety law. Tim graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2008.

Brad Heckenkemper was recently reappointed by the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Board of Governors to the Oklahoma Court on the Judiciary for another two year term. He has served on the Court for twelve years and has the distinction of being elected by the other 8 Members of the Court to serve as Presiding Judge of the Trial Court Division.

New Award Recognition for 2011
Barrow & Grimm is pleased to announce that William R. Grimm was recently awarded the Oklahoma Bar Associations's prestigious Joe Stamper Distinguished Service Award for 2011. One of the Association's most prominent awards, Bill received it in recognition of his many years of extraordinary and dedicated service to the legal profession.

Barrow & Grimm, PC is pleased to announce that Melissa Henke Sartin has joined the firm.

Ms. Sartin attended the University of Oklahoma, where she received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. She graduated from the Management Development Program at Conoco, Inc. and went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law, where she served on the Energy Law Journal staff.

She spent 13 years with Texaco in various capacities, most recently as the Manager of Supply and Distribution for the Natural Gas Liquids Group.

Ms. Sartin is an active volunteer in the Tulsa community where she has served as President and Chairman of the Gilcrease Museum Association and a Court Appointed Special Advocate. She is a member of the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa Board and serves on the Booker T. Washington Foundation for Excellence. Ms. Sartin concentrates her practice primarily in the areas of business law and estate planning.

The Firm is happy to announce its newest member, Alexis Casady-Cohen.

Alexis worked for the firm as an intern while attending the University of Tulsa's College of Law. She graduated from TU with honors.

At TU, she was very active and demonstrated leadership qualities, serving as: President of the International Law Students Association; a member of the Tulsa Law Review; and a judicial intern for Vice-Chief Judge Jane Wiseman, with the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals.
