Knee pain? I can handle that! No surgery, no injections, no medication.

Happy Father's Day to my business partner, colleague, financial advisor, and my dog's gpa.

If you've had an exam at our clinic, you were in the same room as the first picture. 🥰 He's paved the way for me in so many avenues and for that, I am grateful.

"I'm just old" --a lot of people I see who are over age 20 when questioned about their source of pain. Age is a factor in physical health, but it is not a valid excuse to become rigid and non-functional.

Do you know when you stop moving? When you stop moving.

There are small decisions we make every day that compound to either override or submit to our physical age. The food we eat, the quality of our sleep, forcing our bodies and brain to work hard every day... or not. It's whether we take the stairs or the elevator, both literally and figuratively, when given the option to choose.

I see patients in their 60s and 70s who are in better health than some people in their 20s. Those people have made difficult and rewarding choices over and over, every day and the condition of their life reflects it. They remind me that the quality of my future is ultimately up to me.

If you're a headache sufferer, this is a little wordy, but worth reading!

If you struggle with headaches that feel like they originate in the neck, worsen with neck pain and stiffness, muscle tension, etc., you may be surprised at how much chiropractic can help.

After neck pain and back pain, this is the third most common symptom that chiropractors treat. The research doesn't lie! Plus, this treatment is organic and chemical-free. 😉

If you're avoiding exercise in attempt to minimize pain or injury, I'd encourage you to change the way you think about your body.

Our bodies are strong and they were designed for functional movement. There's certainly a time for modification and altering movements to work around an injury. However, avoiding motion is a ticking time bomb for pain, atrophy, and dysfunction.

If you treat your body with the belief that it is weak and fragile, you can trust that it will eventually become weak and fragile. There is risk with any form of exercise, but there is significantly more risk in the absence of exercise. With strength comes power and resilience.

Your body performs at the capacity that you require from it. Use it or lose it!

I'm super excited that I am *finally* in network with BCBS.

As a reminder, we do accept most major medical insurances.

If you're a BCBS policyholder with joint or muscle pain, now is your time to shine. 😎

Really grateful and proud to have competed with this team this weekend at . They're great athletes and even better people from my home gym that I know and love dearly. Simultaneous (mostly) low stress yet high competitiveness which makes it so much fun. Truly the best competition to date for me.

We walked into day 2 tied for 7th place knowing that our weak points were behind us and that our strengths were ahead of us. We executed perfectly as planned and managed three consecutive 1st place events and worked our way to the top of the podium out of 107 teams.

Also some pretty sweet shirts if I may say so myself. 🤭 Love you all, let's do it again soon! 🤍🏆🥇

So grateful to be featured in the November/December issue of Oklahoma Sports & Fitness

Coming up with answers to these questions was fun and a little bit challenging--also a reminder of my "why"s in my fitness journey and in my career. I'm honored that they took the time to learn a little bit about me! 🤍

Route 66 half marathon in 01:57:53 ✅

Not a big deal for some people but kind of a big deal for the barbell girl who used to skip CrossFit work outs with 400m runs in them.

Thanks to Eminem, NF, and Tyga for fueling this run.

Shout out to my friends who I would physically crumble without. Find yourself a Georgina who prepares you, jumps in for a few miles, and makes you post race breakfast. TYSM to Amy and Molly for surprising me at mile 11 when I thought I was going to melt into the pavement. I love you guys the most. 🤍

Now back to the barbell where I belong.

Voted Best Chiropractor in Tulsa for 2022

I am so grateful to my patients who nominated and voted for me. I can't fix every problem that walks through my door (although I'll try), but my hope and aim as a practitioner is that each person who sees me feels heard and genuinely cared for. If I accomplish that, I've done my job.

Over the last few years, many of you have walked in as strangers but then walked out as friends. Getting to know you guys is hands down the most rewarding part of this career.

A huge thanks to our team who pour so much of their lives into our clinic to make it such a well-oiled machine. They are second to none and I appreciate and owe them so much.

Serving my patients has been such an honor over the last 3+ years. Thank you, Tulsa!

Something I've been thinking a lot about lately is identity. I'm a chiropractor, a daughter, an aunt, a friend, a sister, a follower of Jesus and an athlete. I've been a lot of other things in between.

I don't know if it's because progress in athleticism feels tangible and rewarding, but I've noticed that a lot of my identity and my priorities revolve around how I can be a better athlete.

I've struggled throughout my life in many areas, but athletics has never been one of them. Even as a kid, when I was struggling in school, athletics were a place I knew I could show up, put in the work, and succeed. If you've known me for long enough, you've probably heard me say that I love CrossFit because it's the only thing that I feel like I'm good at. I admittedly (and potentially regretfully) find a lot of my self worth in my performance.

I've been running by myself more than usual the last few months and I've noticed my mind wandering to this place a lot when I'm trying to push past my mental and physical barriers. Why do I place so much importance on this? Am I as focused on being a good person as I am on being a good athlete? If this was taken from me, would I still know who I am? Do I want to be known for my athleticism or for my integrity and my loyalty?

I certainly believe you can simultaneously be a great athlete and a great person (and I hope I am). But for some reason, this has been prevalent in my mind lately. Because of that, I'm working toward shifting my identity from performance to character. At the end of the day, one will last a lot longer than the other. This post is a little wordier and more vulnerable than usual, but I hope it resonates with some of you. 🤍

Such a fun weekend at

•Got 1st place in a running event which is a weakness that I've been working on for months
•Cleared a 200 # clean + 3 jerk ladder
•Podiumed in rx division despite taking a DNF on an event due to an injury on our team
•Reluctantly accepted a team member invite from 4 months ago even though it made me incredibly nervous, followed through with it, and didn't die.

We'll call all of those wins.

I love this sport so much and I hope I never take it for granted 🤍

One of the most common questions that I'm asked by patients is how long it will take for their pain to go away. Sometimes we get lucky and it happens immediately, but it’s not the majority. The pain might have started overnight, but the affected area was probably lacking proper motion for a while before pain presented.

While I always love to hear that there was improvement after the first treatment, seeing significant change usually takes 4-6 visits. This depends on factors like the severity of the problem, the amount of time the issue has been present, the age and condition of the patient, etc. There is not a one-size-fits-all number of treatments.

If I could fix everything in 1 visit, I’d be a magician, not a chiropractor. And trust me, if I could do it, I would (I’d just charge a lot more 😉)

Photo #2 is a photo of the pain ratings from the file of a senior patient of mine who presented with severe, long-standing low back pain and significant spinal degeneration. He has been consistent with treatment and stated today that he is completely pain-free. Younger patients usually respond to treatment faster than this example, but this just proves that lasting physical change can take some time and consistency, but it is worth the investment.

"People think they need to feel better before moving more when it's the other way around." --Perry Nickelston

I hear so many people say that they need to lose weight or eliminate pain before they start to exercise. There is always validity in wanting to be smart and conservative while getting started. However, I almost always tell my patients that there's no better time to start moving than now.

Research has repeatedly shown that exercise decreases pain and improves overall quality of life. Our bodies do not need perfect conditions to endure exercise. Stop waiting to feel better to move and you'll probably find that movement is actually the catalyst to feeling better.

08/02/2022

Progress and growth in any part of life is unlikely to be perfectly linear. Motivation and excitement come and go.

Consistency and perseverance carry more weight than the setbacks and trials along the way.

If today sucks, show up again tomorrow.

The best and the worst thing about fitness is that it's objective.

No one can do the work for you. What you put in is what you get out.

If I succeed, it was probably up to me. If I fail, it was probably up to me.

A few years ago, I was sitting on my back porch making this account. I had 0 followers and was a brand new grad with a brand new LLC wondering what in the world I needed to do to grow a business to fund my life.

I knew I would use Instagram as a vehicle for marketing, but I never would've guessed that this platform alone would be enough to build an entire business.

Someone asked me recently what I use to market myself and the entirety of my answer was "Instagram". 🥹 My page has been notably growing and I just wanted to say thank you to those who follow me and support my business.

It has always been and will probably always be a level outside of my comfort zone, but connecting with my community and meeting so many of you guys has made it worth it tenfold. 🤍

Summer is here which means I've fallen back in love with fitness and hard work.. As I do every year when the sun comes out. ☀️

It also means a lot of sweat and chalk.

I'm feeling really grateful for my health and my love for this sport lately. When it starts to hurt, I remind myself that working hard in the gym is a privilege and not a right.

06/17/2022

Honestly thought PRs were a thing of the past. 230 # push jerk made my day orrrr maybe my year. Thanks to for being my hype girl as usual 🤍

Long-term thinking has short-term pain and short-term thinking has long-term pain.

Choosing what feels easy is ultimately an illusion. The consequences of easy decisions eventually show up as difficulty on the back end. On the contrary, what feels difficult in the short-term eventually creates freedom.

In physical and mental health, in finances, in school and business, in relationships--this concept is relevant in just about every facet of life. The choice is up to you.

A research study comparing spinal manipulation and surgery concluded that “60% of patients with sciatica who had failed other medical management benefited from spinal manipulation to the same degree as if they underwent surgical intervention.”

Additionally, there is a statistic from the American Society of Anesthesiologists estimating that 20 to 40% of back surgeries fail. This means that the chances of failing chiropractic care and failing back surgery are comparable.

There is absolutely a time and a place for surgery. However, conservative care should almost always be considered prior to surgery.

(Manipulation or microdiskectomy for sciatica? A prospective randomized clinical study. Gordon McMorland et al. J Manipulative Physiol Ther. 2010 Oct.)
