For the back story: I met Cindi & her two daughters back when I was doing design work. They bought land and built homes together. I helped each of them pick the finishes for their homes. It was a special treat to get to work on that project with them. Fast forward to now and she’s selling her old home. I had the pleasure of helping her and it has been such a joy. She had a few things that she wanted to repair so my husband, who is an insured contractor, was able to quickly knock those items out. We got her home on the market and now we are under contract.

Congrats to my clients who bought their first home today!

After our time at the closing table they had a late lunch and sent me this picture. I couldn’t help but chuckle.

Real Estate is messy.

Working with these dear friends of mine was definitely an adventure. We dealt with multiple offer situations, bad inspection results, stubborn sellers, and more. Many contracts and hundreds of miles later, we eventually found the perfect starter home.
The transaction wasn’t perfect. There were hiccups but we made it through.

One word continued to stick with me throughout my whole experience with my beloved friends. That word is FAVOR. I was consistently reminded that God is in control and He wants Good things for His children just as a Good Father should.

Being the realtor aka human that I am, I easily found myself trying to take control of every detail and beating myself up when things didn’t go my way. When you write up an offer that is thousands over asking price and lose to a lower cash offer it’s frustrating and it definitely feels like the odds are not in your favor. It would have been easy to give up but my clients and I endured and remembered to shift our focus on the one who is in control.

Jehovah Jireh: The one who provides.

Obviously, the little paper in a cookie at a restaurant can’t dictate the future but I couldn’t help but think that this was a little wink from Jesus. 😉
