Is Too Much Screen Time Bad for My Child’s Eyes?
Excessive screen time can have a range of negative effects on a child's eyes. One of the most observed issues is digital eye strain, often referred to as computer vision syndrome. This condition can manifest through a variety of symptoms, including dry eyes, headaches, blurred vision, and eye fatigue.
It's crucial for parents and caregivers to take steps to mitigate the potential negative effects of excessive screen time on a child's eyes. Here are some practical strategies:
• Implement the 20-20-20 rule
• Control screen brightness and blue light
• Limit screen time
• Get regular eye exams

National Children's Dental Health Month Tip:
Exciting story books and toys about oral hygiene make a big difference. It’s not always easy for kids to understand oral health or grasp its importance, so using stories as a teaching tool makes the connection more natural and accessible to them. 📚📖
We appreciate the review and are glad we could provide you with a positive experience, Rachel!

How Important is Fluoride for My Child's Teeth?
For children of all ages, fluoride is important to strengthen tooth enamel, which helps prevent against tooth decay. In fact, fluoride and regular dental cleanings can even help reverse early signs of tooth decay. And, strong tooth enamel during childhood helps prevent tooth decay for the rest of your little one’s life.
The easiest place to get fluoride is from tap water. Since the vast majority of community water systems have fluoride, simply drinking water from the tap can help your kiddos fight tooth decay.
Other good sources of fluoride include:
• Most toothpastes: look for fluoride on the label
• Fluoride treatments: your child’s dentist will recommend
• Fluoride mouthwash (not recommended for children under age six): choose mouthwash for kids

When should kids go to the eye doctor?
It’s best to start preventive eye care early in life. Eye exams are not just for determining whether or not your child needs glasses. Eye problems that begin at a young age can have a long-term impact. It is important to receive preventive eye care to identify potential problems early on and prevent minor issues from becoming serious.
Even though babies and toddlers cannot read an eye exam chart, they should still go to the eye doctor before they turn one year old and annually thereafter. Additional visits can be scheduled if your child presents any noticeable eye problems.
