Talked my daughter in to riding with me to Texas to pick up some of my newest finds (will be listing on my personal Facebook marketplace and linking on this page). I think she only agreed since we went on to Galveston to visit family for a few days... Flamingo Fest was a hit! Flamingo Fest is a day that marks the start of the summer season for Galveston Island. This is marked by a golf cart parade (where participants decorate their carts and have amazing outfits, throw candy, beads, koozies & even Raman packets 😆) and shops / restaurants have specials throughout the day.

Facts! One complains just to complain the other older kid is pre-teen & does the chores with no complaints, just attitude. The toddler is happy to help; but, will then dump any glasses over that he sees might have liquids in them 🤪🤦‍♀️😳💙 The struggle is real but I love it!

Those of you that I haven’t yet met, I’m Melanie. My friends call me Mel or Mello. The nickname Mello started in college when someone would sing, “They call me Mellow Yellow,” almost every time they saw me in the hall. It stuck and more people began calling me Mello & still do today 😊.
I began my journey as an entrepreneur as a partner in a landscape🌺🌿 / lawn 🌱company and sod farm🚜. I helped with the day to day operation mostly in the office (aka our house) but also made my way out to the field some days running a loader for sod orders, on a mower or helping with landscaping (only planting at first and then moving on to bidding, designing & running a landscape crew which I loved).
After giving birth to my kiddos I quit going in to the field as much. We sold the company but I continued to work with select clients doing landscape design + install which tapered off the busier I got with my kids.
I lost myself. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE volunteering at my kids schools, spending time as a family, being in to whatever they are in to…
However, I soon realized I was ready for and NEEDED my next chapter in life. The question for me became, what can I do as a business that I enjoy. One of the top answers over and over has been that I enjoy getting great deals and passing them along.
