Ida Red Brookside Store Closed Indefinitely After Fire A Brookside business owner is devastated after a fire damages her store and destroys most of her inventory. The owner of Ida Red says it could be at least a month until she can get the location reopened.

Due to a fire this morning, our Brookside location is temporarily closed until further updates. In the meantime, our Arts District Downtown and South Yale stores are open, and you can also shop online. Right now we would greatly appreciate your support more than ever.

Hi! I’m Angelene and I’m the owner of Ida Red General Store!
I want to start showing my face around here more, so I’m gonna be working on that!

Ida Red is very much a family business run by a woman! I love doing this to show Tulsa some love and also my mission is to bring the joy of gift giving in the community. We’re so dedicated and have worked hard to create a culture and environment that is a fun and positive place to both work and shop, and hope that we’ve brought some cheer and smiles to your lives.

I woke up today struggling, and I thought why not talk to YOU, the people that have supported and loved Ida Red for so long?! We have had a pretty tough year or so! Aside from normal business trials, we have struggled with a lot of merchandise theft, money theft, and we are still recovering from the car crash that hit our south Tulsa store. Unfortunately insurance didn’t come through so well, and it only paid a fraction of what that event cost us. Somewhere in the middle of all that I had a miracle baby girl, Stevie, who is four months old now!

I don’t think I’ve ever posted anything like this, but I’m asking that if you value Ida Red in the community, come out and support us! We need a little extra love right now, so come buy something you love! I’m a little biased, but we have some great new things in the store! When you shop local it means so much to us, and I can promise you that I’ll continue to try my very best to make Ida Red the best experience I can.

How did this happen?! Thats what I ask myself.

Sometimes I pinch myself that my life mission is to spread joy and warmth and laughter! I get to scheme on spreading city pride and big Oklahoma love. Yesterday was one of those days that I laughed so much!

The only trouble is that small business can be hard and we need to see you to make this all work! Please come out and support your favorite small business! We need you so much to keep it all going. If Ida Red is one of those favorite small businesses, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I see every single sale that comes through, and I am so thankful for each one.
