🙂 We all mess up. It's part of being human. But it's especially hard when that mess up hurts our kids. We love them so much!

We know, though, that beating yourself up over past errors rarely leads to positive change in parenting.

Instead, try embracing self-compassion. It seems counter-intuitive, we want to get down on ourselves to motivate change, but we've learned that we don't grow that way! We don't become the parents we want to be through criticism.

When you stumble, treat yourself with kindness. Self-compassion creates a nurturing environment for personal growth, allowing you to:

1. Learn from mistakes without shame
2. Build resilience
3. Maintain motivation for self-improvement
4. Cultivate a growth mindset

It's through self-compassion and love that we grow!

🎧️ The Power Of Self Love And The Impact It Can Have On Our Children (Ep 117)
••••••••••••••••••••

Brad first got introduced to real estate when he read a book in 9th grade on how to buy houses. In 2002, an investor bought his neighbor’s house in Vienna, Virginia and after talking with the investor he decided to start Express Homebuyers. 20 years later Express Homebuyers has bought and sold 4,000 homes across the country and runs primarily without his involvement.

In early 2021 he went through a major life transformation and found freedom and happiness through self-love. In 2022, because of the profound shift, he felt obligated to share this path with others and started Brad Chandler Coaching where he now helps others overcome childhood programming so they can live the life of their dreams. "Toys are children's words, and play is their language." - Gary L. Landreth

Play is a child's natural way of learning and expressing themselves. Play therapy uses this natural form of communication to help children explore their thoughts, feelings, and issues in a safe and non-threatening environment.

Play therapy has lots of great benefits for kids:

🧸 It helps kids better understand and regulate their emotions in a healthy way.

🖼️ Kids can improve their social skills.

🧩 Help children cope with difficult situations.

👐 Increase confidence and self-esteem.

✏️ Parents and therapists learn about the child's inner world.

Are you trying to soak up each moment with your child but find some phases harder than others? 😃 Need ideas to thrive instead of survive?

I think we all do! Some developmental moments are harder than others for us. Depending on our personalities and likes and dislikes, we can all struggle and find ourselves just getting through moments. Hello sleepless nights, long car rides, emotional teenagers…whatever might be your struggle!

At the same time, we may have a voice inside encouraging us to soak it in. We’ve all heard that their childhood will go by so fast and we’re already seeing that it does!

I want to encourage us to be gentle with ourselves and know it’s okay if we’re not loving every hard moment. Also, we can make the hard times better!

I find these three things help me in my less-than-favorite times! ☺️

1) Be present. We can wish it was different, want the moment over with, go to the past or future, but that doesn’t help us. Being present in the moment helps us make the most of it and see opportunities.

2) Practice gratitude - put your focus on what you love in the other person here and now. This moment has wonderful pieces for you.

3) Create the moment - you are not a victim to the moment. Remember you have power in this moment to create memories, peace, and joy.
Check out our podcast to hear a more in-depth discussion on this topic!
