Labor Day 9am Hot Yoga
“Those who have stretched around town long enough May remember classes led by “The Holiday Guy” because some of us didn’t want to take a day off.
This Monday, Labor Day; that Tulsa institution since the early 21st century- Yogaquest-will offer the classic 26&2 90 minute Original Hot Yoga at 9a.m.
Same corny jokes and unconditional love with one who could have been institutionalized except for this yoga thang, presiding.
Cause when you’re hot you’re hot. And when you’re not….. well, it’s still hot.”- UE

Meet Member of the Month Kellye Baggett
"I’m 51, married for almost 27 years. Our 23-year-old son is living the good life in grad school in Golden, Colorado. I am a Licensed Social Worker and opened my own private practice a couple years ago after working in community mental health for 10 years (after a long hiatus to stay home with my son). I enjoy running, but the older my body gets the more it revolts against me. I love to travel and spend time with friends.
I initially came to YogaQuest because my sister invited me, and I wanted to spend time with her. I had previously gone to another “hot yoga” place and I HATED it-I don’t like to be hot and I didn’t like them-at YogaQuest I had a totally different experience (except for the not liking hot part). I feel welcome and that the instructors are engaged and genuine inside and outside of the practice. I love the feeling of pushing myself and seeing progress that I am making and receiving support from the instructors and others in class. I can feel comfortable being at a different level than others and never feel judged. I enjoy the quiet in my head after a class and the improvement in how my body feels."
Say Hi next time you see Kellye at the studio!

** Announcement for Wednesday Hot Beats Class**
Unfortunately, I’m feeling under the weather and won’t be able to teach our regular Hot Beats class this Wednesday. However, I’m excited to let you know that Hugh will be stepping in with his old school yoga rock mix. The class will be a little different from our usual sessions, but I think you’ll enjoy the change of pace and wonderful music.
Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to seeing you all Saturday. - Nicole

Member of the Month!
Have you met Amy? we love seeing her happy smiling face around the studio :)
I'm 55 years old, married for 20 years now, have two daughters and two dogs. (So really I have 4 kids!) We live in Owasso and my youngest is about to go to college so I'm soon to be an empty nester. I love to walk my dogs, practice yoga, and I've recently started to run. I'm contemplating how to write this next chapter in my life. I'm still not sure what I want to be when I grow up. :)
Best advice I can give anyone? Tell everyone you're older than you are. That way they'll say you look amazing for your age and you'll feel great! Lol!
This is why I practice yoga at Yoga Quest:
I think I tried about 15 different yoga studio's, and several different types of yoga before I found Yoga Quest. There are several reasons I pass all the other yoga studios every time I come into the studio to practice at Yoga Quest. I come for people as much as I come for the yoga. For me, Bikram is as much for mental health as it is for physical health. I love being able to get into the zone while I practice and the rest of the world just melts away. I think Bikram is as much a moving meditation as it is a physical workout.
As a busy adult, I've found it's hard to make lasting connections with other people. Everyone is so focused on going, going, going! The people at Yoga Quest always seem to have time to say hello, chat or even grab a cup of coffee together. In today's fast-paced world there are very few places you can let your guard down, relax, let the rest of the world's worries go by, and just have peace and calm while you're surrounded by friends.
As for the physical part of the practice, I've had back issues my entire adult life, from being very active in sports at a young age, and Bikram has helped me avoid using lots of Tylenol and doctors. It has also given me a much more body-positive image of myself. I've always been really, really critical of myself physically (from my sports background). Seeing all the different people practice yoga in the studio, and seeing how all their practices are beautiful, no matter what body types they have, has shown me that I'm beautiful in my own way too. That's new to me, and invaluable!
Above all, Yoga Quest has the best hot yoga around, and I love the Bikram style. :)
I plan on practicing Bikram the rest of my life!
Every year on July 24th, encourages people around the world to prioritize self care and make it part of their lifestyle. Self care means taking care of your whole self to stay physically, mentally, and emotionally well.
So what exactly does self care look like? It could be as simple as having some quiet time each day, or a coffee with a friend at least once a week.
Other examples of self care include:
• Taking a yoga class
• Having a regular sleep routine
• Maintaining a healthy weight
• Keeping a reflective journal
• Practicing gratitude
• Getting a massage
• Listening to relaxing music
• Reading a good book
• Learning to say no
• Asking for help when necessary
There are other areas of self care that some focus on as well. For example:
• Paying bills on time and saving money can be forms of financial self care
• Monitoring time on social media and decluttering your home can be forms of environmental self care
• Going to a place of worship or meditating can be forms of spiritual self care
No matter what kind of self care one practices, one is bound to reap benefits, such as having a healthier mind and body.
Self care is especially important for caregivers. They may find it easy to pour all of their time and energy into another person, which can take a toll. As the saying goes, “You can’t pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first.”

Hi everyone! I'm proud to join with yogaQuest to co-sponsor this coming Thursdays, 7/25, EBA- Equality Business Alliance, taking place at Oklahomans for Equality Center. The event runs from 6:00-7:30pm.
Dee Anne Day and I will be there to share the wonders of what yoga, functional movement, labryinth walks, ear acupuncture, sound baths, etc. are able to bring to a person's journey of wellbeing.
We hope to see you there...this event is open to all persons who wish to be in support of the great work OKEQ continues to do each day to help our overall community, not only the LGBTQ community.
Look forward to meeting you there!
In the interim, be kind to yourself and all others🌞
🌟 Special Announcement! 🌟
Thank you all for the incredible energy in Saturday's Hot Beats class!
💜🔥💜🔥 I’m thrilled to share that due to popular demand, we’ll have an encore session of Earth Wind & Fire this Wednesday at 5:30 PM instead of our regular Hot 60.
Don’t miss out on another chance to sing and sweat together! 🧘♂️🧘♀️
See you then 💜💜💜
