Rodrigo Gutierrez Junior was a man whose life was defined by resilience, love, and an unforgettable spirit. Born on December 29, 1977, Rodrigo was a beloved son to Rodrigo and Leticia Gutierrez, and a cherished brother to his older sister Sylvia, and younger siblings Juan and Victoria. He was the proud father of two beautiful daughters, Lyra and Lily, who were the light of his life. Rodrigo’s life was a testament to the power of the human spirit. He had an extraordinary ability to find joy in every moment, no matter how challenging, and to share that joy with everyone around him. His laughter was contagious, and his sense of humor was a gift that brought comfort and light to his loved ones, even in the darkest times.

But the memories of his laughter, his love, and his unwavering spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him. Rodrigo’s legacy is one of strength, love, and the importance of finding light in every situation. His daughters, parents, and siblings will forever carry his memory in their hearts, along with the valuable lessons he taught them—about resilience, love, and the power of a well-timed joke.

Nancy Ann Sarkhosh
April 18, 1951 - May 9, 2024

Nancy Ann Sarkhosh passed away on May 9, 2024 in Turlock, California due to health complications. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of passing.

Nancy was born on April 18, 1951. She was the second child of 4, and the only daughter to Ann and Paul Shellabarger of Michigan.

In 1959 the family relocated to Los Angeles, California, where Nancy spent the majority of her life. Nancy graduated from Monroe High School in 1969 and later received her AA from Los Angeles Valley College. She worked as an accountant for over 30 years at southern California businesses, including Hooper Camera and Southland Corporation. As a young woman, she enjoyed travel, including solo trips to Europe and Mexico.

In 1978 she married Atour Sarkhosh of Urmia, Iran. She and Atour had two children: Steven and Katie.

Nancy had a huge passion for reading, and was never without a book or her kindle. She was always glad to share her latest book series and discuss the finer points of a plot with fellow bookworms. Getting lost in a book was one of her greatest hobbies, from staying up late reading as a child to devouring a new series on her kindle.

Nancy’s greatest joy was her family. She spent many happy years being Aunt Nancy to her nieces and nephews before welcoming her own children into the world. She treasured her moments with family and always had time to offer a helping hand or an ear to listen, making others feel loved and supported. She loved to reminisce about cherished family memories, from childhood campouts, to holiday baking, to events at the Assyrian Civic Club.

Nancy was a very devoted and loving mother. She was always present for her kids’ school activities and was their greatest supporter. She taught the importance of being a good and kind person, being self-reliant, and doing one’s best at all times.

Nancy was the most caring and thoughtful grandmother (Nana) to her two granddaughters who she adored. Her sense of joy and pride was ever-present when spending time together with her family.

Patricia A. Nunes
April 1, 1941 – July 30, 2024

Patricia will be remembered as a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, who loved life and her family. She was a strong willed, determined and very independent person. She also was a person who was always there to help with her Children and Grandchildren. Patricia had an awesome sense of humor, and was known by her friends and family for hilarious witty one liners. She was fun and quite often a bit mischievous. Patricia grew up in Gustine and took on every bit of the Portuguese Princess role. Patricia and her family grew up very involved in the local Festas. She was raised in the Catholic Church and more recently attended New Life Christian Center. Patricia always took pride in her appearance and loved shiny, sparkly everything. She especially liked wearing her sparkly jewelry that matched her particularly chosen outfit. You wouldn’t catch her outside ( even at her own house) not done up, lipstick and all! Patricia loved her garden, most of all her roses. She would often lose all track of time, distracted by the calmness and satisfaction gardening provided for her. Patricia loved decorating both inside and outside. She even got to the point she was not just decorating to correlate with holidays but even the seasons and took pride that her house decorations were admired by her neighbors and visitors. Patricia loved baking and was known for her cakes and fudge. Patricia loved music, her music taste was quite eccentric and ranged from worship music, oldies, rock and country to some rap and hip hop.
She will be missed by her Grandchildren, Jennifer Nunes, Erin Wurth and Ayden Nunes; Great Grandchildren Emily Wurth, Gauge Wurth, and Harley Rivera; Daughter in law Deborah Braz, and Sister in law ,Phyllis Pacheco. She was preceded in death by her Parents Tony and Emily Pacheco; Children , Daniel and Darren Nunes and Brother Richard Pacheco.

Thomas Earnest Hager 08/04/2024

Thomas Earnest Hager

October 2, 1934 ~ July 28, 2024

Thomas Earnest Hager, age 89, passed away very peacefully on Sunday, July 28th, at 2053 hours in Turlock, California. My pops was born on October 2nd, 1934 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to his father Thomas Hager and mother Pauline (Cole) Hager. He was the third child out of four with two older sisters, Catherine and Francis, and a younger brother, Robert. All his siblings are at home with the Lord already and have welcomed him through the gates of enteral life.

He attended the 9th grade and 10th grade at Hardin High School in Hardin, Montana. Then completed the 11th and 12th grade at Bono High School, in Bono. Arkansas where he graduated.

Somehow, he ended up in Oakland, California where he attended and graduated at Laney Junior College on the 23rd of May 1957. Soon after that, he became a journeyman painter. Three months later, he enlisted into the United States Army. He served from August 1957 to July 1959.

Upon discharging, he moved back to Oakland, California. There he met a young lady named Drucilla, who had a young child. He decided that she was the one and they got married. They moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas when I was born in 1960. We ended up in Houston, Texas for a year and then went back to Arkansas. But after a while in Arkansas, we ended up in California.

Our life as a family was pretty much a Beaver and Wally lifestyle. Camping trips to the beach, Disneyland, and baseball games. My mother and father decided to go separate ways when I was in the 6th grade.

Even though I didn’t live with my father, he saw me every other weekend.

I cherished the time he and I spent together. My favorite memories included watching baseball games with him, that mostly included the Oakland Athletics and a two-week trip him and I took in 1972. We traveled through Montana and Wyoming, where we did a lot of fishing and hiking. I even had the pleasure of meeting friends he had there in Hardin, Montana.

On September 3rd, 1972, he ran his first marathon at the Silver State Marathon. He was an avid runner and loved the sport.

Years later he met another young lady named Julie who had a young daughter. They decided to give it a try and got married. They resided in San Leandro, California. But soon after Pops retirement they ended up moving to Safford, Arizona. Years went by and they decided to move to Carson City, Nevada, where they lived a long time.

Unfortunately, around April of 2021, Pops had a stroke. For the next 38 months he battled his ailment and finally lost his battle.

Pops lived a life to the fullest with simple pleasures, chatting with family and friends, gardening and golfing. He also loved all his grandchildren very much. He had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He was loved by many and feared by a few, (LOL). He will leave us with many wonderful memories of love and happiness. Until we meet again Pops, I love you.

Our Story

At Allen Mortuary we understand the needs of families because we, too, are a family. Caring for families is our business- it’s our way of life- it’s who we are.

The Allen family has been providing family-centered care for over 65 years. Founded by the late William E. “Bill” Allen in 1952, our mission is to expertly and professionally serve you and your family with compassion, dignity and respect while upholding our core values of excellence, integrity and affordability.

Allen Mortuary is proud to be the only family-owned funeral home in the Turlock area. This means we work for you, not a board of directors or a group of stockholders.

For us, family-owned and operated also means providing a wide variety of services at affordable prices, without sacrificing the quality of care you receive. We take this obligation to our community very seriously and strive to fulfill that obligation every single day.
