The U.S. President’s Call to Service Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest level of the President’s Volunteer Service Award, which is bestowed by the President of the United States to honor individuals and organizations that give more than 4,000 hours helping others through the President’s Council on Service and Civic Presentation.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. joins in the celebration of to commemorate June 19, 1865, a date two and a half years after emancipation when our enslaved ancestors in Texas, the most remote “slave-holding” state, were finally informed they were free.
As we celebrate freedom, let us never cease in our efforts to empower our communities and elevate our impact in the memory of our ancestors!

World AIDS Day has been recognized as an opportunity for people around the world to stand together in the fight against HIV.
Globally, an estimated 38 million people live with the virus. More than 35 million people have died of HIV or AIDS related illnesses over the past 40 years, making it one of the most destructive pandemics in history.
Today, we unite in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with HIV, and commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness.

Welcome to the official page of the Tuscaloosa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Chartered in May of 1950, Tuscaloosa Alumnae remains dedicated to Delta's core values of Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service. We serve the Tuscaloosa and Northport area in numerous capacities, most importantly, through public service and social action.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world.
Founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University, the Sorority is currently a sisterhood of more than 300,000 predominately Black college educated women. This includes over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Republic of Korea.
The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Physical and Mental Health, Educational Development, Political Awareness and Involvement, and International Awareness and Involvement.
