SOLD 2 PAINTINGS This is the collector, who is camera shy, holding the two paintings she bought. One from a text I sent to preferred clients, those who have purchased from me in the past, offering a special price. And the other when she visited my home studio to pick up the first painting.

I sold 4 paintings in a half hour from that text offering the paintings before I would post, email newsletter, or put them on my website. I offered partial payment plans as an option. Such an exciting day! I'll post the other two paintings when the payments have arrived.

We took one painting to Hobby Lobby to frame. My collector picked out the mat and frame. Didn't she do a lovely job?

Frames are half off if you have Hobby Lobby frame the painting, and you only pay an additional $3 to have them attach the hardware and seal the back. Such a great job, and they were so nice!

The most exciting news! The 4th attempt of my dream to get into the Watercolor West International exclusive watercolor show happened. You are invited to the 55th Watercolor West International Exhibit. The opening reception is July 8, from 5-7pm. This was on my dream list. In 2021 and 2022 two other dreams to get into galleries were fulfilled. I hope more will come. I'd like to get my signature status with Watercolor West. So please pray that I will get into it 2 more times to fulfill that requirement. Thank you so much for following me. I'd appreciate any feedback. It's always so nice to hear from you. Jeanette

Pears in process, watercolor, next phase is immediately following this post. Good so far, I love how the pears and cutting board are coming along. The background needs to be toned down. The blue tape is still in place.

I'm hoping to get into an international watercolor show with this one.

On the post just prior to this is the pears alone with upper background and my reference painting that I painted along with explanations. And one of my hummingbird masks.

Finished and submitted to competition at HBAC. A shoe designer is sponsoring this competition. We'll see if I get in. It was nice not to have an entry fee! Artists pay a lot to be recognized.

Hi,
I think this watercolor is finished, 9x12. What did you think about the changes to the waterfall. Doesn't it stand out more? Guess what I did?

Now, I'll rip the edges off so it will have a pretty deckled (frayed) edge. Then photograph it and photo shop it. I'll post the final painting when that's done. The colors aren't true until then on these formats. My website will show its most true vibrant colors. I'll let you know when I put it there.

Finally, If I get good feedback on this I will enter it in a monthly online contest for money sponsored by my website. Some of you have honored me voting in these money contests. There is also a judge for additional money awards.

Until next time,
Jeanette

Hi,
This watercolor is shaping up. I finished the water in the foreground. It was so much fun to do! The reflection in the water isn't straight under its objects, gotta fix that! And the waterfall isn't standing out. I'll fix this Friday.

So my tools. The carpet knife is laughable but works great to make scratches that look like foam and splashing water where I need the places to be white. You can't paint opaque white on a watercolor unless you want to break the rules. I don't, that way it might get into a show.

The brushes are my usual funny Crayola and a fine detail one, the smaller one, sable from the U.K. (Not shown) a 1-1/2" synthetic brush to lay down the undercoat background which was light blue mostly.

02/02/2022

Hi, I took off a month from social media. It felt sooo good. Took a break from painting for a couple weeks to recharge my batteries!

Here the mid-ground is filled in more from the post yesterday. It's really starting to come together. I think I'll make a major change by Friday to the waterfall itself and I need to finish the foregrounds water.

02/02/2022

Hi, This waterfall will take a dramatic shift through its stages, ones that even surprised me. Pay close attention to the water falling and see if you like what I did in the last photograph posted this Friday.

Each day this week starting today, Tues I will post each days new progress of this painting.

I really enjoyed this painting! Especially doing the water strokes in the foreground, better seen over the next couple of days.

This paintings is 9x12 and I plan on doing another bigger one. This one has helped me work out the details. I'd love your feedback.

White Poinsettia finished, part 3. I'm going to add gold irridescent paint to the little round inner stamen on each limited edition print I send out to my collectors and those who have purchased my first novel in series as a thank you.

I'm also thinking of making greeting cards, 5x7, of this. Let me know what you think please.

I like this one better than last weeks, anyone care to comment?

I used fine Rosemary brushes for the details.

Merry Christmas all,
Jeanette

White Poinsettia part 2 out of 3. I painted this at my son's home. We paint together.

I used M.Graham watercolor. This brand of paint doesn't ever fully dry out when on the palate. It's quick and easy to get it reactivated. It's honey base does make it susceptible to bees, but I've never had a problem.

12/22/2021

White Poinsettia today Part 1 of 3. I like this one better than last weeks, how about you?

I took pictures of the plant at Trader Joes.

I'm using M.Graham watercolor paint. I like its honey base and creamy texture. Up to this point I'm using these Crayola brushes. For an inexpensive brush they have a fine tailored point. I will switch to another finer brush later.

I used yellow watercolor pencil to etch in a few leaves then I drew in the remaining leaves as I went along only with my brush.

12/18/2021

Final Step 6 Poinsettia watercolor. Whew! Got a thumbs up from my mentor on this painting. I just need to rip off the tape. It will have a white border. Oops, yeah, almost forgot got to sign it, lol.

What do you think of how this ended and/or the process? Would you like to see more of this kind of study? I'd love to know. I'm doing limited edition prints $15, 5x7. Let me know.

And I have this question and could use your help. Please tell me what you think of my posting times on Wed and Fri between noon and 4pm?

I'm not sure whether I should post them all at the same time each Wed and Fri or at noon, 2pm, 4pm. I post three each on those days. I could use your help to figure this out. Or, you may prefer one a day Mon-Fri?

I know lots of questions, but then it helps me know what you would like to see.
Thank you

Step 5 in this Poinsettia watercolor. It sure is turning out different that what I imagined.

I'll be posting Step 6 at 4pm today which is the final one. Please tell me what you think of my posting times on Wed and Fri between noon and 4pm?
