As Halloween night approaches, let’s keep it spooky, safe, and wildfire-free! Here are some quick tips to help everyone enjoy a night of treats and tricks—without any wildfire scares:

🔥 Keep decorations flame-free: Opt for LED lights or battery-operated candles inside your pumpkins and spooky decorations. Open flames can be risky, especially in areas with dry brush nearby.

👻 Mind your costumes: Choose costumes and wigs labeled “flame-resistant,” and avoid loose or billowy fabrics that could accidentally come into contact with candles or decorations.

🎃 Clear outdoor spaces: Make sure your yard and pathways are free of dry leaves, branches, and other flammable debris to reduce fire risks, especially if using any electrical decorations.

🕸️ Supervise outdoor lighting: Check for frayed wires and use weatherproof lighting for any outdoor displays to prevent electrical fires.

🚫 Say “no” to fireworks: Fireworks are exciting but dangerous and can ignite dry areas quickly. Let’s keep Halloween safe and keep the fireworks for other occasions!

Lindale's the spot for spooky shenanigans this Halloween! Tonight, ChristPoint Methodist Church is hosting a Trick or Treat blowout, handing out more than just candy - we're talking coats and shoes for those who need them. The Cross Brand Cowboy Church is also having a fall festival this evening. Then, the City of Lindale's Boo Bash takes over Pickers Pavilion tomorrow night.

FYI!

Smith County has issued a work permit and notified the City of Lindale of a temporary closure on C.R. 474 AKA Brick Yard Rd.
The road closure will begin just East of Country Acres starting on November 4th, 2024 for several days while they install infrastructure.
You will be able to drive up to that point from either direction, but you will not be able to drive through 474 until completion of the project.
Please be patient - we will update when the road closure is complete.

The Pride of Lindale Marching Band will be heading to the UIL State Military Marching Contest on Monday, Oct. 28th! We are planning a BIG SEND OFF for the band as they roll out. The band is scheduled to leave at 2:15pm and will be leaving from the back of the high school. Please join us by lining up in front of the AG barn and the MAC! Bring your banners, posters, Lindale flags, and anything that makes lots of noise! The band would love your support as they march for their 5th consecutive State Championship!
