As it 👀 right now, temperatures are expected to dip into the teens on Friday morning with strong winds 💨 in excess of 40mph. Wind chills will be near 0. 🥶 Use today to take precautions to hopefully prevent any frozen pipes!

❄️ VERY IMPORTANT.. Make sure you know how to turn your main water off if it does freeze. You may need a wrench to turn it so have it available.

❄️ Run a STEADY stream of Cold AND Hot water on all faucets.

❄️ keep cabinet doors open where plumbing is located to allow heat in.

❄️ Disconnect your water hose and cover hose bib

❄️Turn off Sprinklers

❄️ Put a light in your pump house or shining on your pipes if you have a well and it’s not covered.

❄️ insulate any exposed water lines

❄️ Keep your Garage door close. Garages are not always insulated well. A lot of times freezes happen near the garage.

If you turn your water on and nothing comes out. Go turn your main water off and leave faucets open to drain off pressure. When you eventually turn water back on, watch everything really close. Many times, the damage happens when the pipes thaw and water starts running again.
