A little birdy told us…
In recognition of Traylor's monthly service activities, our July service activity included collecting donations, such as gift cards, bingo prizes, and raised planter beds. Yes, a little birdy told us the veteran residents at Watkins - Logan Texas State Veterans Home Home love their raised flower beds and growing their own produce. The raised flower beds make it accessible to all residents to be able to work, grow and harvest their own produce.
The Watkins – Logan Texas State Veterans Home, located in Tyler, features 10 individual cottages with 10 private rooms per cottage. Serving East Texas since 2012, the Veterans Land Board built this facility to provide excellent care and services in a home-like environment. Veterans enjoy visiting friends in other neighborhoods and playing an active role in the preparation of meals within their own cottages.
We’re so thankful for facilities like Watkins-Logan Texas State facilities and their staff who are dedicated to helping our veterans!

Happy Independence Day!!
The Traylor & Associate's Office will be observing Independence Day and closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024, and Friday, July 5, 2024. The office will resume normal business hours on Monday, July 8, 2024. Safe travels everyone!!
In recognition of Traylor's monthly service activities, our June service activity included collecting fans to deliver to PATH - People Attempting to Help for their Summer Fan Drive. The annual PATH Summer Fan Drive provides hundreds of families in need with a box fan each year. The summer heat can be a hidden danger for our most vulnerable community members: low-income older adults, adults with chronic illness or disabilities, and families with young children. These fans can help families reduce energy costs while keeping the heat at bay. PATH seeks to restore hope with a personalized approach to empower our East Texas neighbors to thrive in our community. PATH helps to restore hope and empower 17,000 of our neighbors each year. We’re so thankful for facilities like PATH and their staff who are dedicated to helping our neighbors!

2024 Texas Flood Awareness Week - Wear Blue Wednesday
In honor of Texas Flood Awareness Week the Traylor & Associates staff wore blue to acknowledge and remind communities of known facts and how to prepare for flooding events!
1. Flooding is unpredictable. It can impact anyone whether your property is inside or outside of the high-risk flood area.
2. You do not need to live near water to experience flooding.
3. Floods are the most common and costly natural disaster in the United States.
4. You can't control the weather, but you can prepare for it. Buy flood insurance before a flood happens otherwise, you won't be covered.
5. Flood insurance policies typically take 30 days to go into effect. If you wait to purchase a policy until after a flood event threatens or occurs, your property won't be protected from the damage caused by that flood event.
6. Turn Around; Don't Drown! Do not drive into flooded areas. Two feet of rushing water can carry away most vehicles.
7. Create A Plan! Find out if you're in a floodplain, determine the roads likely to flood, and then identify the fastest way to higher ground.
8. Document, Document, DOCUMENT! It is important to document and capture any damages experienced after a flooding event. In most cases, these documents, photos, and videos will be important for insurance claims but also for local/state/federal declared disaster declarations. Sharing the documentation with local officials can help support the requests for funding opportunities to assist with damages and future mitigation risks.
For more information, please call Traylor & Associates for your grant opportunity needs!

Texas Flood Awareness Week (May 20 - 24, 2024)
Texas is famous throughout the world for its diverse geography and weather. From the High Plains to the Gulf Coast, the Lone Star State is home to stunning scenery and equally powerful natural disasters, including floods. Dangerous floods are possible throughout the year, but their frequency increases during spring thunderstorms and summer hurricanes. Flash flooding may occur within minutes of intense rainfall or slow-moving storms that stagnate over the same area.
Texans can easily become familiar with the dangers of flooding by knowing where floodplains lie and by monitoring weather forecast and emergency updates. We must all heed warnings and make wise decisions about our safety.
The National Weather Service’s widely recognized Turn Around, Don’t Drown” campaign has saved hundreds of lives by educating the public about the dangers of driving or walking through flood waters. Since a small amount of water has the power to knock down adults or carry away vehicles, it is essential that we understand the tremendous power of nature and refrain from unnecessary risks to our safety.
Each year, the third week in May is set aside to bring awareness to the dangers of flooding. All Texans should understand and prepare for the possibility of flooding in their area, and I encourage all Texans to educate themselves and their families about floods and flood safety measures. With awareness and preparation, we can create a safer future for the Lone Star State.
Therefore, I, Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas, do hereby proclaim May 20-24, 2024, to be Texas Flood Awareness Week in Texas and urge all Texans to observe the occasion with appropriate ceremonies and activities.

Our Story
Modern society requires creative strategies when funding public projects and the ability to identify and qualify beneficiaries in expectation of project submittal and subsequent measurement of impact and compliance as part of the grant administration process.
Traylor & Associates has the ability to improve the efficiency of local government through the education of elected officials and by providing technical support for public staff. This has allowed for multi-generational relationships and community partnerships that improve not only the communications but the success of our applications.
Our knowledge of the intricate balance between the three levels of government gives us insight into the ways the government can be more responsive and inclusive in the development of publicly funded solutions to local problems. We have added contract service to state and federal agencies as they look for economies of scale in out-sourcing elements of state-funded programming. We are proud members of the BBB.
