Barbara McClellan, a leading figure in Longview’s theatre, music, and culinary arts community, was recently named the 2025 recipient of the Arts Longview Lifetime Achievement Award for Artistic Excellence.

Natasha Raibon won a coloring contest at the age of 3 and hasn’t looked back since. Almost 40 years later, the Longview native and artist is never far from a paint brush, a block of clay or the countless East Texas pupils who discovered their creative side in one of her art classes.

Hayden McCullough graduated from Tyler Legacy in 2022 knowing he was going to the United States Naval Academy. Similarly, Eli Mahfood had his sights set on the academy ever since he visited the institution with a friend.

Andrea Valdez, who is undocumented and a first-generation college student, encountered many rejections as she navigated applying to college. Through mentors, she found a way. Now, she has completed her first year at University of Texas at Tyler and dreams of becoming an immigration lawyer. She has also established a nonprofit East Texas Monarchs to help others in similar situations.
