Today, we’re not just celebrating photography—we’re honoring a true pioneer. Nearly 100 years ago, before women could even vote or have a credit card in their name, Mary Edwards was making history. She purchased a photography studio right here in downtown Tyler, just a block away from where our main studio stands now.

I’d love to meet this trailblazer - to visit her studio and to see the world through her lens and compare it to our modern-day captures.

What does it mean to feel stuck?

Mentally, it signifies hitting a roadblock in thinking or problem solving. Emotionally, it manifests as being trapped in negative feelings or relationships. Physically, it denotes an inability to move or progress due to internal or external factors.
Overcoming stuckness involves identifying barriers, seeking support, and taking proactive steps toward resolution and growth.

We wanted to represent this visually through our own interpretations on the meaning of the word “stuck”. We took a day off yesterday to stretch our creativity, and with our three minds combined, we created these images.

Through years of facing hardships, Daisy encountered opportunities along her journey that propelled her to her current position. As a single mother, she found support in her community, eventually enabling her to pursue a degree in social work.
