Hello All,

On July 26, 2024 the Paris Olympic Summer Games will bring the world together to compete in many sports. It just occurred to me that it has be 20 years since my painting "Coming Full Circle" (Return to Athens) was presented/unveiled during the 2004 Athens Olympic Summer Games. It "blows my mind" that the piece created for the 2004 Athens Games in now a part of American and Olympic history in the Founding and Permanent Collection of the Smithsonian Institution NMAAHC. https://nmaahc.si.edu/object/nmaahc_2013.151.2 I'm honored beyond belief!

I'd like to share a few memories with you today and over the course of the Paris 2024 Olympics. I will also present some of my new sports apparel featuring work I've done over the years in my capacity as Olympic Artist for the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee.

From Norrington Crossroads, NC to Washington, DC. I have been blessed greatly as I celebrated my 70th year.

Every year on my actual birthday, July 10th, I post this photo of where I was born to "always remember" where I have come from. This is my actual birthplace in Norrington Crossroads, North Carolina. Mama, Daddy, S***t and Ronnie (my brothers) lived here when I entered the world.

I was not expected to live since I was so sick when I entered the world. The Creator gave me a fighting spirit and 70 years from that day I celebrate this momentous day. I am thankful and grateful for the life I am living.

I have accomplished many things in my life with the gift(s) I was given, I do the best I can with what I've been given.

I thank those that have already reached out to me to wish me a "Happy Birthday". I appreciate it.

This is a Silver Anniversary for me now as it was for the record at that time. I, like millions of people, watched on television as he broke the record. I never dreamed I would meet him or create/present anything to him. At that time, 20 years of age, I wasn't even painting.

I salute Mr. Aaron as a human being and as a great athlete. I had the pleasure of meeting him a number of times at his home and at events here in Atlanta. I was honored every time!
