Today marks - a day to acknowledge and celebrate the freedom of enslaved people in America.✊❤️💛💚

What is Juneteenth?

📜The Emancipation Proclamation was issued on January 1, 1863, and declared all enslaved people in Confederate states free. It was not until 2 years later, however, that all slaves were actually freed.

🦅Freedom finally came on June 19, 1865, when some 2,000 Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas and announced that the more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state, were free by executive decree. This day came to be known as "Juneteenth."

🎉Celebration began in Austin, Texas a year later to commemorate the anniversary of the day, and over the years, the celebrations have grown all over the nation.

I cannot believe that it is 10 years since we opened our first location here in Springfield Union. A lot of love sweat and tears but Allison l and I enjoyed every minute. It gives us great pleasure to help the community get fit and feel great. We’ve changed many lives and it has been nothing short of an honor to serve the Union County community.  We celebrate our members and staff for making this a reality Here’s too many more years of changing lives!!!❤️
