Ascend will have its last corporate event of the semester today, 10/31, from 7-8pm at 103 Business Building with Vanguard!
Vanguard is one of the largest mutual fund companies with over $5.3 trillion in assets. There will be Vanguard recruiters talking about more of the company information and internship/ full time opportunities on both corporate finance and investment management.
If you are interested, definitely come out, learn more about the investment management business and build your network!

Ascend Leadership Development Program provides opportunity to let members got exposure to basic leadership skill. You will have authority to direct an event in Ascend, input your opinion during leaderboard meetings,collaborate with your assigned teammates to nail case competition, etc. Through graduating from this program, you will grow in your ability to work in teams and build your leadership abilities.

The deadline to apply is September 25th 11:59pm

Reminder that tonight will be Ascend's late PD workshop of the semester! We will be talking about case competition in preparation about our upcoming Shark Tank Case Competition. Even if you are not interested in Shark Tank, it will be to your benefits to come because we will talk about some fundamental skills on preparing, analyzing and presenting for a case. The meeting will take place in 105 Business Building from 7-8pm. See you all there!

Ascend will have a GBM tonight at 7pm, 105 Business Building. We will be talking about future PD workshops, volunteering events and discussing the introduction of upcoming leaderboard applications and shark tank competition.
We will also have guest speakers from Leveraged Lion Capital (LLC) to talk about their experiences of doing finances in Wall Street. Come out and we'll see you there!

Ascend is hosting a PD workshop on mock interview on Wednesday from 6-7:30pm. This is a great opportunity for members who want to practice their interviewing skills for future internships/full time application. Eboards will be interviewing each member for 5 minutes and give on-site feedback to member's performance. Dress is causal.

Mock Interviews Sign Up Sign up for a 5 minute mock interview session with Ascend's executive board. Your interviewers will ask you a few behavioral questions, listen to your response, and offer feedback on your answers. These interviews will imitate the actual Ascend leaderboard/executive board interviews held at the end....

Tomorrow at 7pm, Ascend and Alpha will co-host a corporate event with Boeing in 009 Business Building.
Boeing and Ascend have been having a very good relationship and Ascend people constantly get interviewing opportunities with Boeing. A few of former Ascend's Eboard members are working for Boeing right now. So definitely come out and learn more information about their leadership program and internship/full time opportunities.

Ascend's End-of the Year Banquet is just around the corner, this coming Sunday at the Atherton Hotel. Food and fun will be provided! It was wonderful meeting everyone this semester, so hopefully we can end on a fun note right before the pressure of finals begins to kick in. Please RSVP as soon as possible and bring a date!

Grant Thornton, one of the largest audit/tax/advisory firms, is coming to tomorrow at 7pm in 105 Business Building. Although recruitment season has ended for spring, many companies have already begun recruiting for the fall. Get a head start and come learn more about Grant Thornton and the internship opportunities that will be available soon. J&J AND Boeing are coming this Tuesday and Thursday! These are huge companies bringing in various opportunities for you guys.

J&J will be talking about a leadership development program that is STILL OPEN to freshman and sophomores, while Boeing is bringing in two older Ascend alumni which will be a great learning and networking opportunity. Remember, each corporate event is worth 2 points and many of you guys are nearly there!

Just in case it slipped your mind, Ascend is hosting a workshop tomorrow on personal branding and marketing yourself to recruiters. Come out for some quick tips that can go a long way in your career!

It's State Patty's, but the grind never stops! If you or your friends need a professional headshot, come to the Business Building on Sunday, February 25 from 3-5 pm. Our President Gina Nuyen will be there to help take the perfect picture for your LinkedIn Profile.

Be sure to come out to Ascend's general body meeting Wednesday, Feb 21. Location and time are stated on the flyer. We will be talking about upcoming events such as our incoming Mason Jar Fundraiser (which involves pie!). Hopefully, everyone comes out to a more relaxing meeting after an extremely busy week of midterms!

Ascend will be hosting a Corporate Event with RSM tomorrow at the business building. We are especially excited to welcome special guest Sudhir Kondisetty, Managing Partner of RSM's Philadelphia branch, who will be leading a talk about diversity in the workplace.

It is a busy time, but be sure to take advantage of this great opportunity to network with industry leaders. Additionally, dinner will be provided free of charge!

Ascend is hosting its first corporate event this Wednesday with Raymond James, a diversified holding company which provides financial services through investment and financial planning, in addition to investment banking and asset management. Members can learn more about Raymond James and their upcoming opportunities available to students.

It is highly recommended that members interested in attending the Raymond James event also attend Ascend's Professional Development event the day before on Tuesday. It is a great chance to brush up on the basics of networking before talking with professional recruiters. Hope to see everyone there!

It was great seeing all the new and old faces who came out to our Homecoming event and game night with AUSA. The weather has been chilly, so we were thrilled to see everyone who turned up!

Ascend is having its first general body meeting this Wednesday. Specifically, we'll we hosting our Mentor-Mentee Speed Dating event where members can get to know the executive board before choosing a mentor for this semester. Additionally, we will be talking about social events we have planned for this upcoming weekend.

The GBM will take place on January 17th in Business Building 10 from 7-8 pm, so be sure to come out!

This case competition is built to allow members to practice their critical thinking and public speaking skills all while working in a team. You will be tasked with a problem relevant to Ascend and will have to work together to create a solution to that problem. On the day of the competition, you and your team will present your idea to Ascend's Executive Board.
