Brightview Hunt Valley has officially reached substantial completion. Located in Cockeysville, MD, Brightview Hunt Valley is a resort-style senior living community featuring 178 units within a seven-story building. The building includes five and a half stories of independent living, assisted living, and memory care units, with the remaining two stories dedicated to a parking garage. On-site amenities include two large, landscaped rooftop gathering areas, dining rooms, a bar, a wellness center, a salon, a movie theater, and activity spaces. Additionally, residents can enjoy the retail, dining, and entertainment options within the Hunt Valley Towne Centre. Here's a timelapse video that shows the progression over time at our Ellicott Gardens II project in Ellicott City, MD! This second phase of an existing development in Howard County opened its doors to residents last summer. It is comprised of a four-story, 70-unit wood frame building over a single-level underground parking garage. Day in the Boots | Construction Safety Week Edition Meet Miguel Penagos, our safety coordinator here at Harkins, who is an integral member of our safety team. Since joining Harkins in 2022, Miguel has continuously shown his commitment to keeping our jobsites safe. He visits our projects regularly to perform site walks and trainings to ensure proper safety measures are being implemented on our jobsites. Our Brightview Alexandria project is seeing significant progress! The team is currently working to get the roof complete, progressing from the independent living wood frame side of the building to the assisted living metal frame side of the building. In addition to the roof and exterior work, our team is actively working on unit and common area rough ins. Located in Alexandria, VA, Brightview Alexandria will consist of a new 168-unit four-story senior living community that will include memory care units, assisted living units, and independent living units. There will be a multitude of amenities such as a movie theater, spa, tavern, art studio, salon, card room, commercial kitchen, two courtyards, an elevated rooftop deck, an outdoor bar with covered seating, and many more. Harkins is seeing much progress at our Uplands Rental Phase II project in West Baltimore! The team is currently wrapping up framing for the last building and siding operations are underway for four of the ten buildings. When complete, Uplands Rental Phase II will consist of a new affordable community in Edmondson Village, as part of the second phase of the Uplands Redevelopment. Apartments will feature a variety of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. In addition, site amenities will include two playgrounds and on-site parking for residents. Dorsey Center Apartments has officially reached substantial completion. Located in Elkridge, MD, Dorsey Center Apartments will soon offer a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom market rate units to the residents of Howard County. This four-story wood frame building will feature amenities such as a leasing center and management offices, conference room, pub room, fitness center, motion studio, cybercafé, two Zoom rooms, Hello Package room, dog park, outdoor swimming pool, grill stations, TV wall, and a firepit. In addition, a five-story precast garage will provide 373 parking spaces to the community. Meet our 2024 winter interns! Harkins is excited to officially kick off the third year of our winter internship program! This three-month long experience is aimed at high school graduates or individuals with little or no construction experience who are looking for their next career opportunity.
