✨ “If this feeling ever goes away - it’s time to stop fishing.”I don’t know where to begin. Saturday after our Door County adventure day, we set out for an evening jaunt of fishing to try and get out of the wind. We hopped into @dorii_sell and @jimmy_sell ‘s boat this weekend and unfortunately you can’t change the weather. We dealt with some nasty wind the entire weekend our crew was up. Saturday, we had thrown just about everything, tried trolling, etc. caught a few pike, and then we made our way closer to the trucks about twilight and popped into a final spot. After neds, cranks, and blade bait, I thought to myself, “this is probably so stupid but I love this most.” and tied on a 1/4oz Mooneye with a Kalin’s Jerk Minnow, because it usually does the trick for something.. I sent a cast out the opposite side of the boat, and started snap jigging. When I lifted up to snap on my third lift, I felt weight.. and proceeded to set the hook I think the hardest I’ve ever set it. 😂 All I could feel was deadweight, maybe a small shake, but that was it. Shoutout to coach Jimmy for telling me to ease up a bit (I was horsing her lol) when this fish came to the surface and hit the net I absolutely geeked. My knees and hands were shaking and my heart was in my throat. Overwhelmed and over the moon! This fish was celebrated, photographed, and sent back to swim.. even after asking Jay “CAN I KEEP HER?!” LOL. Just an absolute brute of a fish, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to catch her and see her swim off. This beauty measured out to 27.5 inches long and unsure but guestimated somewhere between 8-9 pounds (she was heavy!)
