🧠What is the Vagus Nerve?
The vagus nerve (aka cranial nerve 10) is a nerve that serves as a communicative channel that runs between your brain and your gut.
🧠What does the Vagus Nerve do?
It is a major part of the Parasympathetic Nervous System, which as you may know, is responsible for ‘rest and digest’ in our bodies. When stimulated, the vagus nerve moves our bodies from a state of stress ➡️ to a relaxed state.
🧠Why is this important?
Well because we all pretty much know what a state of stress feels like and it’s not fun! All of our bodily processes work better when calm and relaxed. We think better, feel better, make better decisions and are generally happier when in a calm and collected state. Who doesn’t want that!?🧘♀️
🧠How to activate:
✨Laughter (like the loud, ugly kind)
✨Gargling 30sec-1min
✨Slow, deep breaths (I like 4-7-8 breathing or box breathing)
✨Meditation
✨Cold water immersion
✨Ear massage
…and many more!
The BEST part is that these modalities are completely free and can take mere minutes to perform. With 75-90% of doctors visits being stress related, I think it is crucial to teach our bodies resiliency in today’s world!🌎

🍍 Balance
Balance. We hear the word often, but what does it mean? It almost seems simple yet complicated. The truth is, balance is different for everyone and it goes way deeper than just balanced nutrition. We need balance in all aspects of our lives. When we find ourselves out of balance, we might have issues that range from physical, mental, and emotional, to relationship issues, self-esteem issues and the list goes on.
What does balance mean for you?

🍍Stress and the downstream effects
Stress is a hot topic🔥
We desperately need a healthier relationship to it as a whole. In moderation, it can be a natural response that helps us deal with challenges. However, chronic or unrelenting stress can have a profound impact on various physiological systems, including hormones & gut health. It can lead to issues like adrenal fatigue, which can affect energy levels, mood, & you guessed it, your fat storage abilities.
Addressing underlying stress & finding ways to manage it effectively are essential for overall well-being. Unfortunately most aren’t taught this & it’s not a prerequisite in the current education systems, but it’s one of the most important things us humans should know. If you are lost or even overwhelmed by how much stress you have or how to manage it, I can help! Sign up for a free chat with me at the link in my bio ✨🍍
Maintaining good dental health goes beyond a bright smile; it's a key player in your overall well-being
Studies show that oral health is linked to various systemic conditions, emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive approach to wellness!
Oral hygiene practices, such as regular brushing, flossing, & tongue scraping 👅 not only prevent cavities & gum disease but also contribute to a healthier body. Poor oral health has been associated with conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, & respiratory issues.
The mouth serves as a gateway to the body & bacteria from untreated oral infections & a bad mouth microbiome can enter the bloodstream, triggering inflammatory responses that affect other organs. Did you know this!? 🤯 On the flip side, a healthy mouth can positively impact your heart, immune system, & even mental health.
Incorporating oral care into your overall wellness routine is a small YET impactful step toward a healthier lifestyle. So, next time you reach for that toothbrush, remember that you're not just caring for your teeth – you're investing in your overall well-being & that it’s a necessary yet SIMPLE practice to level up your health✨
🍍 My personal health journey has been a long one. This may look like a before & after post but it’s a post to showcase the ups & downs I’ve experienced to be where I am today.
The girl in the gym pic looks “healthy” except she was highly restrictive with food, thought about it 24/7, used exercise as punishment, & was stressed out constantly😖
The girl in the “unhealthy” pic was a 17 year old who became an unknowingly emotional eater with severe anxiety after a tragic family death & gained 45lbs without even being aware of it. This lead to a cycle of social anxiety & depression.
To say that finding health & balance after both of these experiences was simple is an understatement. It has, in fact, been life changing. I learned from personal experience & through formal education about the ways in which we can create our own health challenges & ways in which we can heal ourselves. I am here to share that knowledge✨
🍍My personal experiences with hormonal issues, anxiety, muscle pain, TMD, gut issues, restrictive eating, stress, sleep, nutrient deficiencies etc. has given me the insight to what others go through & how I can help. I’ve always had a passion for health but these experiences have propelled it exponentially. My mission now is to educate, advocate & empower my clients to unlock their fullest potential so they can live the vibrant life they desire.
So here’s to embracing the journey, with all its ups and downs, & to never underestimating the strength that lies within us!

It’s 2024. Look around you. EVERYONE is busy. There’s so much to do & so little time. At least that’s what it can feel like. Prioritizing your daily tasks & responsibilities can have a huge impact on your productivity ➡️ which can impact your happiness ➡️ which impacts your health. Sometimes this requires sitting down with someone to help with accountability, to sift out what is & isn’t a priority & what your goals are. Stomach acid is ESSENTIAL to our health & vitality. Yet, many people struggle with acid reflux/GERD & immediately reach for antacids. This is a bandaid approach 🙅♀️
💊 The impact of acid blockers on our long term gut health is not talked about enough!
Stomach acid is essential for digestion & gut health & altering its pH can lead to nutrient deficiencies & bacterial overgrowth 😮
Considering that most people have used antacids, what were/are your experiences with it?
🍍 I was diagnosed with a medication induced gastric ulcer & was told to stay on PPIs even after it healed. Instead, I chose to adjust my diet & lifestyle, knowing that I could help myself continue healing to 100% & be preventative without having prescriptions pushed on me. Have you ever taken a PPI?
