As the leaves change and the air gets crisp, it’s the perfect time to embrace reflection and renewal. 🍁 There’s something about fall that invites us to slow down and reconnect with the simple joys in life.

I love this season because it always brings me back to my childhood, when I’d press paper over leaves and color over them, capturing their unique shapes and textures. That simple act of creativity reminds me of how small moments can bring so much peace. These days, I continue that tradition with long walks outside, enjoying the beauty of nature as it transitions.

Join us at the office as we dive into meal planning and create grocery lists. If time allows, we'll take a quick trip to the grocery store together to put our plans into action.

October 3rd: Check-in and Gentle Yoga
Bring your lunch and join us for a mid-series check-in. We'll follow this with a gentle yoga session to relax and recharge.

October 10th: Lunch Outing
Let’s enjoy a meal out together! We’ll meet at a designated restaurant for some good food and even better company.

October 17th: Meal Planning Check-in and Skill Building
Back at the office, we’ll review your progress with meal planning, participate in a process group, and work on building essential skills to support your goals.

October 24th: Mindful Art Activity
To wrap up our series, we’ll provide lunch and engage in a mindful art activity. This session will focus on creative expression and setting your next steps as we move forward.

My team and I love getting lost in a good book. Today, we're celebrating all the literature lovers out there and sharing our favorite reads.

📖 One book that has really helped our clients at Laura Listens is Life without Ed by Jenni Schaefer and Thom Rutledge. It's great for people recovering from an eating disorder (or their support people.) The best part about it is that you can read just a few pages at a time and pause to process what you're leading.

📝 Struggling to make a decision? I have an easy technique for you to try...

Decisions can feel paralyzing. I find this happens especially with my clients who are healing from eating disorders. It's hard to decide what to eat, if you want to eat with others, etc.

Here's what I recommend:
If you’re feeling stuck in your mind or situation, I suggest standing up, taking three deep belly breaths, and sitting back down. Then make your decision.

These simple movements help you connect with your body and needs.

🌿 This weekend, I had the incredible experience of joining a sisterhood retreat, and I feel reset, renewed, and refreshed with a new perspective on my body and my daily habits. My heart is wide open!

The morning after the weekend; instead of lying back down after making breakfast and letting the potatoes cook for 20 minutes, I decided to get dressed and go for a walk. I realized that what I need is more space, and this walk gave me just that.

Bigger picture, this weekend gave me space to connect to the Earth, my sisters, my son, my friends, and myself.

I’m so thankful for and her sacred land, where we sisters come back every year to grieve, let go, heal, laugh, and connect deeply with our hearts and the earth. The bond we’ve created there is powerful, and we send out this booming light of humanity.

Thankful for the space to be myself, to express, to feel, and to share my most authentic practice of yoga with others. I felt my voice expand and my throat chakra open. I felt a freedom in my throat chakra I have never felt when circling with sisters this weekend.

Feeling grateful and inspired by the beautiful connections and the transformative power of Sisterhood and nature.🌸✨

Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes when it comes to our yoga sessions?

One thing you might not know about our yoga is that it's all about the prep work! Before I walk others through a session, I get to the space early and make sure it's clear and ready for the attendees. I do at least some breath work and a 5 minute meditation to tune into myself. My goal is to set aside anything and clear my mind so I can hold space for others.

🌸 Embracing the Flow of the Day🌸

This morning, I woke up with my moon cycle and felt incredibly tired. I decided to take a slow morning, skipping yoga, and enjoyed breakfast under the tree with my family, savoring a smoothie. 🍃

Things picked up when our nanny was a bit late and shared the plans for the day and things felt a bit out of sync with our communication.

I started feeling overwhelmed, and my head pain, which I’ve been managing for three weeks, began to increase. I practiced noticing and breathing, understanding there was nothing I could do except breathe and ask for support. I asked my partner to help communicate our needs for the day. 💬

Arriving at my office with only 10 minutes before my first session, I knew it was crucial to take a moment for myself. I opened my Kundalini book and found the Law of Light Meditation. Meditating for just five minutes made a huge difference—my head pain decreased by 25%, maybe even 50%. 🧘‍♀️✨

Taking time to breathe and meditate was exactly what I needed. Remember to listen to your body and take care of yourself, even on the busiest days. 💖
