One of my main goals is to work with the youth in our St. Johns County community and I believe our airport offers a unique ability to interact with student-aged youth. If elected, I will offer the following solutions to engage with our future leaders: 1) The aviation industry offers a plethora of career fields and we should educate our youth about those opportunities through open houses and field days. 2) Our airport is supposed to have a “Nature Education Area” open for our youth to enjoy. The area is overgrown and not maintained. We should update this area and include an educational component regarding aviation and aviation themed playground equipment. 3) I will develop shadow opportunities that invite interested students the ability to see what a day at the airport is like. This will increase transparency and forge lasting relationships within our community. As elected officials we should seek new ways to positively impact our youth and I will always have that on the forefront of my mind. A #Vote4Austin is a #Vote4SJC. #CommittedToOurCommunity
