Quick little MN Muskie Expo update. Small batch of “contrasts”. Lots of black on white and white on black. Also…..My 15-year-old has been working on a few key chains for the car or boat. They’ll be available only at the show. She has done all her own wood work (minus the router work - I don’t want her doing that), glittering and painting. She is saving up for her first used car! Something NEW is coming soon from Harvey Baits. The Javelin R/X. Have been working on this bait line since October of last year and think I have it where I want it. I’d say it’s been a labor of love but I have hit my head against the wall on this one too many times - ha! No joke. Have gone through a minimum of 40 prototypes. I can’t share all my secrets but the bait is a combo of two part resin and three other ingredients…hence the prescription name of “Javelin R/X”. Was tough to video with one hand and work the bait with the other. But I want you to notice a few things. 1. Keep small amount of tension on the bait during the rise and it wobbles quite nicely. 2. Give it a touch more slack on the rise and she will nearly turn 90 degrees. 3. Death pause is killer. It’s not neutrally buoyant but very slow rise. The longer the bait the more predictable. The shorter the bait the more erratic. Will have these in the 7” (video below), 9” a and 11” models. Should have limited amount come middle of July. Am not taking any pre-orders.
