TERPENE: Caryophyllene / kærioʊˈfɪliːn / bicyclic
The body has 2 major endocannabinoid receptors:
CB1 (receptors are primarily in the brain and central nervous system) and
CB2 (receptors found mostly in the peripheral organs)
When the cannabinoid THC is ingested, it primarily binds to CB1 receptors, which causes the euphoric effect.
Caryophyllene is a bigger molecule than any other terpene and has a unique cyclobutane ring, which is rarely found in nature and not found in any other terpene.
Caryophyllene is the only terpene known to activate the endocannabinoid receptors in the brain. Due to caryophyllene’s unique molecular structure it also binds with CB2 receptors and may aid in reducing inflammation in the body.
FOUND IN:
Cloves, pepper, black caraway, cannabis, hops, basil, oregano, lavender, rosemary, cinnamon, and ylang-ylang.
AROMA/FLAVOR:
Peppery, spicy, woodsy, floral earthy
EFFECTS:

Decreases inflammation
Reduces stress
BENEFITS:

SUPPORTIVE FOR:

“Historically, cannabis is an old hand in the bedroom:
Indian ta***ic s*x practitioners included cannabis in love making as early as 700 AD.
Medieval herbalists used to create a h**pseed oil-based “flying ointment,” administered vaginally with “broomsticks.”
An ancient Russian wedding tradition has brides using a mix of cannabis and lamb’s fat for vaginal lubrication and discomfort.
Serbian men consider h**p seed to be such a powerful aphrodisiac that they believe even wearing h**p can enhance their s*xual prowess.
Polish anthropologist Sula Benet reported on an Eastern European recipe called Happy Porridge, comprised of almond butter mixed with hashish, dried rose leaves, daisy root, carnation petals, crocus bulb, nutmeg, cardamom, honey and sugar. This was a luxury cannabis product in its day, and was consumed by men who thought it “the strongest aphrodisiac.”
Scandinavian archaeologist Anne Stine Ingstad has noted that the Norse goddess Freya was associated with cannabis - as were her priestesses.
In Uganda, cannabis has long been used as a remedy for erectile dysfunction.”

“The Power of Touch: Physical Affection is Important in Relationships, but Some People Need More Than Others.
Intimate touch is a vital part of most close relationships.
Study after study has found that couples who touch each other more tend to be happier.
From backrubs to gentle caresses to hand-holding to hugging, the more intimate contact couples have with one another, the more satisfied they tend to be with their relationships.”

Happy National Inventors Day!
We never intended to start a h**p and CBD product company, we just planned to farm, and teach others to do so!

In a male dominated cannabis industry, women breeders are not the norm. There are many more female cultivators than there are breeders and we’d love to see that change and the disparity balanced out.
So, when I came across a female breeder, and one that is growing some of the cultivars we wanted to bring into the gardens, it was easy to excitedly browse their seed catalog…
Well…I couldn’t just look, could I?
And as the story goes, in the end we ended up with both our specific selections and a bunch of freebies.
Alot!
So we popped em…..100% germination and strong looking lil babies. Couldn’t be happier with the entire experience thus far. If you don’t know, you do now..go check her out

My kind of Terpene Tuesday.
Can you smell the bottle, tell which terpene it is, and pick a matching cannabis chemovar (strain)?

“The larger question, though, is why the legislature is making any decisions about individual patients' medical care at all. Who is better qualified to decide who specifically benefits from what medical treatment - a politician or a doctor?”

🍁Vermonters, please read this blog and speak up! Email bill sponsors and your reps and advocate for the changes listed in the log!
🍀We want any patient that a healthcare provides deems appropriate, to be eligible to have a medical card.
🌿We need a higher plant count. 12 in flower and no limit on veg. (6 and 12 is not enough)
🌱We need to allow patients to have multiple caregivers, one is definitely not enough.
🪴We need to allow caregiver to caregiver for multiple patients and not restrict them to two. (Also a patient can only caregiver for one, not two… so silly, that needs to change! As a patient and nurse I grow for another nurse. My son just got his medical card and now I can’t grow for him too… wtf?)
🌴Kids need multiple caregivers, not just two (half of homes are divorced/separated!)

The 2022 ANA Black History month’s theme for National Black History Month, " Black Health and Wellness," looks at how American healthcare has often underserved the African American community. The theme acknowledges the legacy of not only Black scholars and health care providers in Western medicine, but also birth workers, doulas,
midwives, naturopaths, herbalists, etc., throughout the African Diaspora. Help us celebrate Black History Month the way our nation honors its great moments and great people.
Prepping late night, getting ready for a big week in Vermont legislation!
One of my favorite ways to use CBD for Lil ones is topically!
This bomb balm, with CBD, arnica and frankincense essential oil, is always a stellar choice!
Or consider massage oil for a full body application!
I’ve been teaching parents to massage their children for over two decades and love seeing the beautiful gift of communication and reading cues!
Don’t ever forget the power of intention and love!
